Read something interesting here this week talkkng about Venables.

It mentioned the NFL just falling in love qith these young hotshot OCs such as Kingsbury.

 

Mentioned that if Venables were calling offense instead of D, he'd be one if the hotest commodities out there right now.

 

With 

A. Tepper rumors state he wants changes aming the staff outside the HC.

B.  And the way the NFL is moving to more spread out like the Chiefs.

 

I know some will laugh.

But should we atleast give him consideration as a potential DC candidate? His playcalling last night and creativity had Tua all confused and off his game

Dude doesn't like to lose....so his current position is ideal for him.  Not to mention, I think he's one of the highest paid coordinators in all of college football.  Basically has it made currently and don't think he wants to leave.

What's a D coordinator make in the NFL?  Veneables is making $2 mill and winning.

A big advantage of pros versus college is that you don't have to recruit anymore.  But since he appears to be a good recruiter, don't know if that would make him want to make the jump.

Tua isnt going to admit he got thrown off by schemes.

 

Every talking head is giving credit to Venables.  Even giving him more credit than Lawerence for the win

I get the "wont leave until his kids leave school" but he's not going from Clemson SC to LA, he'd be going to Charlotte

I get the talent and recruiting.  But he is known most for his scheming which last night was a example.  Alabama had the same "talent" and that SEC speed that all you hear about.  Tua played against all that SEC Speed every week but didnt get workes until Clemson.

He gets paid more that a lot of major college head coaches, and probably over half the NFL DC.  He son is still in school there so unless it's a ego thing and he wants to show everyone how good of a DC he can be in the NFL, why would he go.  Unless the state of South Carolina get swallowed by the ocean, he is probably going to have a top 4 or 5  recruiting class for the next 5 years and he will have at least close to the talent he has on the team now.  Why leave for another DC job, he might have the best one in the country right now.  Leave for a head coaching job, now that's another story.

I thought he said during the presser that Alabama beat themselves, shot themselves in the foot, and it had nothing to do with what Clemson did defensively.

I swear he said that sitting next to Nick Saban and kept a straight face the whole time.  They got rekt and I love it.

He’s gonna be the HC at Clempson once Dabo bolts for Bama when Saban retires.

I don't think he'd move for anything short of an NFL head coaching gig.
