The evolution is in process

One of the many huddle complaints about Ron is that he doesn't do anything unless he has to and that he never looks at the coaches or himself just blames the players.

This was a good read and gives me optimism for the upcoming season. And answers a few questions

I knew as soon as someone posted this, the usual suspects would be in here to gripe about it. It's refreshing to hear him admit what we've seen. I'm optimistic about next season. With something as inconsequential as football, why the heck would you waste your time feeling otherwise?!

Ron is clueless and this is fluff. If Ron was such a great coach, he wouldn't have to pitch his next big idea at how to fix his team. He would just adjust and adapt, it would be real cool if he could do that in a game. This sounds like a BS sales pitch. I expect Ron to evolve into another kind of dinosaur as the meteor lights the sky a pretty color of red death for him and his kind in this organization.

Unfortunately it just seems like Ron, while a nice guy, just isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

The guy knows defensive football. Most people don't like being forced out of their comfort zone. It's not that he's dumb, it's just that he's nothing special as an NFL head coach. It honestly takes a special head coach to be able to flow and adapt with the evolutions of the game as they happen.

My thoughts exactly.

A while back I posted what I would be doing were I Tepper.  That was lock Ron and Marty in a room and go over every single move in the offseason and every game piece by piece and have them explain their moves....in DETAIL.

Sounds like something like that happened and some marching orders were sent down from above.  This is Ron trying to convince Tepper through the media that he really is going to embrace change and really dig down in the analytics of successful football.

This is a sales piece from Ron, and moreso from the Panthers.  The fans are slowly turning on Tepper, and he knows this.

Fan apathy is real.

    • Was at the game and NYCFC honestly outplayed CLT the whole way.  Khalina and Zaha carried the team.  Zaha's wife on IG making it sound like he's gone come July. They're going to have to pay him or find a big time replacement because the team looks like pretty lost without him.
    • No one's saying LaMelo has no blame we're responding to you acting like he's the reason they lost. The scapegoating and blaming the teams woes on his personality is where it's like Cam Newton all over again. It was a failure on multiple fronts and primarily Lee's. Dude said ON AIR pregame that they had to protect the paint and if that was his gameplan going in he couldn't have botched it more. As the commentators said Ball's a rhythm guy and Orlando was preventing him for getting any kind of flow going. I'm a normie watching on TV and said they needed to bait them into fouling to combat that. They didn't even try until the 2nd half when it was too late. I think it's fair to expect the star to overcome whatever but LaMelo was not the problem in that game and he's not what is holding the team back. He's the only reason they're flirting with being a great team. I kinda put the center play on Lee too. Moose is great until he's up against a big who can body him. We've always known that and that's what Kalkbrenner is for. I don't know if it would have changed much but Kalkbrenner should have had more minutes than him.  And moving forward with the center position, I just think it's the time to trade Diabate while his stock's high and that's not an indictment of his game. He's like an evolved combination of Biyombo and PJ. He's a great rim protector and the strength issue is just what you're going to have to deal with if you want that. But Kalkbrenner is perfectly capable of protecting the rim and we gotta get away from the undersized centers or it'll always be a problem for us.
    • Honestly its why that Jalen Coker grab was a big deal.  I'd been warming up to the idea of a sadiq pick and was adamantly against a receiver...but this altered my train of thought.  I mean For instance, Cade Otton signed for 3 yr 30 mil contract...thats not dramatically different than the rookie payscale for #19 (4 year 20 mil with 5th year option), however you KNOW otton is decent...no clue if Sadiq will be anything.
