After the clock strikes midnight, Williams' price comes down a bit. Comes down a bit each day that he's on the market and is unsigned.

Other GMs are looking at us and wondering why we didn't re-sign a Pro Bowl RT coming off an injury. Most are assuming the injury was pretty hard on him and it may well have been.

No reason to rush, let it play out.

Thank you. I dont understand the ra ra attitude fans of this team have. Cut buns, and dead weight dont blow 20+ mil in potential cap room

Lol who is “ra ra” about the team? Are you talking about the small minority of people who are NOT chicken littles running around with their heads cut off? Virtually nobody has explicitly praised any moves this offseason...there are essentially two crowds:

1) the majority, who are dramatic as hell and panicking and denouncing everything and ready to proclaim this franchise lost under this leadership over every move, relatively insignificant or not. Favorite parroted talking points are: Torrey Smith’s non-guaranteed $5 million salary, Matt Kalil not being a June 1st cut, Eric Reid being overpaid, us not having any cap space, us signing players, us not signing players, us not tanking the last game and having a worse draft pick as a result, and I’m sure a handful of others that I’m forgetting.

2) the cooler heads whose stance is essentially that our team and management aren’t the complete trash everyone is making them out to be and that we shouldn’t panic until we at least see how the offseason plays out.

Please try to remove yourself from the situation and tell me which group is more obnoxious? The doom-and-gloom naysayers swarm and infest every...single...thread...like parasites, sapping all the energy out of the forum with the same sentiments posted over and over and over and over. Very rarely is anything new brought to the table. You don’t even see any positive threads made or any positive comments initiated in any threads...the occasional neutral and rare positive posts have been relegated to simply reactionary posts in response to the countless negative ones. The most positive “ra ra” posts I see on here are maybe one or two guys saying Rivera is a good coach...lol, that’s it. I mean, even I’m admittedly not a fan of Hurney and indifferent to Rivera and I’m probably lumped into the “ra ra” crowd simply because I’m not explicitly condemning them over everything.

It’s sad that it’s come to this divisive “us vs. them” mentality that if you’re not out with your pitchforks denouncing every management and coaching move, then you’re some kind of blind nuthugger. These boards have honestly devolved into a cesspool of hate and insolence to where you can’t read or discuss anything without a bunch of nasty vitriol inevitably spewed towards our franchise.

I normally would agree with you on most points, but history of this franchise is like a broken spoke on bike. You can't just keep ignoring the obvious. We have multiple options to make cap room, and exercise exactly 0. This franchise needs a new identity besides the vet loving coach, and happy to be here guys.

One good year and a bad knee injury has teams worried.

If Williams gets an offer from a team that isn’t astronomical we need to immediately cut Kalil and re-sign him.

Moton - Williams combo is my dream scenario. Jonah would be nice but I think after free agency we are pretty much going to be forced to go pass rusher in round one.

anyone else tired of having a really good young player pan out yet to have him walk and then we are immediately looking for a replacement?

like we drafted him in hopes he would pan out, to have him pan out, and then not be able to afford him?

like what happens when we draft a replacement and he pans out?

Plan B is likely already in effect. That's giving Matt Kalil another $7M to provide subpar play until he ultimately winds up on IR at which point we insert some warm body off of the couch at LT and continue to play Moton at RT. C'mon man, it's the Panthers. These are the things that we do. Keep Pounding (our QB into early retirement)!

I hate you!!!

For speaking truths that hurt.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
