Who is the best UDFA in Panthers history?

Need to define UDFA that we signed at the time or best guy who ever played who was a UDFA when he began his football career. There is a huge difference. Sam Mills was undrafted and initially signed by the Cleveland Browns in 1981 for example as a UDFA

I have to think the criteria is "UDFA that spent the most of their career with us."

If that is the case, I think it comes down to Jake and Hoover.  Playing QB, Jake had the greatest impact, but Hoover signed here out of college and spent his entire career here contributing.

Mario Addison has been really good for us too.  5 straight 6+ sack seasons, including 3 with more than 9.

Has been great... not sure if applicable here since he was originally signed by Bears (OP wasn't clear)

Limiting to UDFA originally signed by Panthers and based on overall contribution, not talent.

1) Brad Hoover

2) Andrew Norwell

3) Fred Lane

4) Nick Goings

5) Philly Brown

Jake Delhomme, Sam Mills, Mario Addison, and Reggie Howard were also UDFA who made great contributions here, but they were originally signed by other teams

I don’t know how anyone says anyone other than Jake.

technically not a UDFA.  Played w/ the Saints first.

UDFA implies I think you were draft eligible and not one drafted you, then a team picked you up.   Jake was a UDFA just not by us.  He signed him w/ a professional career under his belt.

I think a UDFA means, wasn't drafted and then we picked him up.

Mills was a UDFA only to the Browns.  Jake to the Saints.

Mills was just a FA signing for us.  Same with Jake.   We were signing professional football players w/ a track record in the league.
