Don’t get this pick. Ron said over and over again he wanted someone like CMC... well he got the exact opposite. Dude won’t even be on the field for 3rd down passing.

Could’ve got him as a UDFA... the ghost of Hurney 1.0 returns

You have 2b most negative poster on this board.  Ugg.

I wanted a power back. Guess I can’t complain.  Interesting thing is that he said he also likes to run block.

If we're looking for a comparison, the skill set he most reminds me of belongs to CJ Anderson.

Will he be that good? Unknown. My biggest question on this is, as others have asked, why take a backup when there were guys with starter credentials available.

I understand that you might have a certain niche in mind for him but that doesn't really make it make sense.

And (obviously) we did not use CJ Anderson much when we had him.  It really comes down to coaching and the discipline it takes to use all of your tools with the long run in mind.

Marty said in the presser, "We were surprised to see him still there."  That is a BS lie.   Nobody in his right mind would have expected Jordan Scarlett to be gone by round 5.  Marty must take us for fools.  It was a stupid pick--forget about what the player brings---if you can get a guy in the seventh, don't take him in the fifth.  Does the phrase, "dime a dozen" mean anything to Hurney?  That is what Scarlett is.

Hope he proves me wrong.  If this is true, he could be a Stewart, CJ type of back--which won't matter if you keep CMC on the field 97% of the time.  However, if you take away the pass-catching option, he will find the sledding rougher in the pros.

Marty (aside from this crap) had a good draft.

I don't think he takes us for fools. I think he genuinely believes that's true.

(that's probably worse)

I wish it were the former.  I think he feels that if he says it, it is true and we should trust him.  I guess he lost my trust when he started validating his draft picks by comparing their salaries to the rest of the league---as if the $$$ that he gave them made them made them elite players.  Still, this was a solid draft as I see it right now--I get moving up for Little---I think Little will struggle a bit as a rookie but will be solid after a year with Matsko.  I understand the Grier pick and feel that we got great value there.  Miller might be the steal of the draft; Marty seems to like the 4th round.  I also like Daley, and see the upside.

It’s a 5th round pick. He’s got big upside. I say you take the swing in the fifth round. Sounds like he can pound it into the end zone consistently which is something that CMC struggled with at times.

The pick is warming up to me, but in the sixth or seventh--it is not like there were not other options.

I think Daley was a late fifth rounder, so I can say that it evened out.

Can the dude come in and play special teams? Because that's what he's going to have to be able to do to make the team. Moves fast, major muscle. Can he rush a punter or tackle an open field runner?

I have no idea if he has experience there, but here's hoping he does. Returning punts and kicks... umm not with those hands if the reports are true.

HFS, Omenihu was available when we took this guy? Omenihu screams 3-4 DE and was stellar at the Senior Bowl and had amazing combine numbers for a 6’5” 280 pound guy. I was driving home from a vacation with the family so I only got highlights and never reviewed all the picks.

I don’t like this pick at all anymore. We could have gotten him later but Omenihu would be amazing for us at 3-4DE.

Really don't understand why he dropped. I was high on him and was hoping he would be the pick. That being said let's see how Scarlett turns out!
