In the 80s and 90s roids meant some black market animal drugs.

PED is not the same now days and isn’t as harmful to your health or has side effects.

I’d wager almost everyone uses them in the NFL. It’s just about cycling so your tests come back negative. I could start a cycle and then get off it, doesn’t mean I’d lose the muscle I gained while on it.

But CMC (and most the nfl) has genetics and that’s something someone can’t work for.

Even with world class instructors and diet it’s virtually impossible for any average joe to look like that without genetics and PEDs.

I'm personally ok with all of it as long as he's smart about it. But my point was a rich man whose profession is his body is in a different position than in college.

His rookie year, I was looking at attending training camp. Joked to my wife that I'd try to get a picture and an autograph for her daughter (same age as McCaffrey).

She asked what he looked like. I showed her a picture.

She then said "Get one for me."

keep in mind he always looks slimmer in uniform and pads seemingly. I've seen pics of him before the 2017 draft with him looking shredded and pretty bulky but its not so apparent when hes in full uniform.

Valid point, as odd as it is.  I've noticed the same thing.

As someone who has studied body building, McCaffrey just has a mesomorph body type.  This means he builds muscle easily and he is short, so his muscle will look more pronounced than someone with longer limbs.  Assuming someone like him is using, with a father who was a NFL star, is a shame and not something I would expect from fans.

    • I think you mean relevant but they have been fine, the problem is the lack of in game adjustments.  He has also been just decent at recruiting.  Duke having tons of success hurts and just fine isn’t good enough at UNC.
    • I don't see it as drafting a premium player to sit and wait if Walker gets hurt. We need a legitimate swing T. Unless you have a Sewell or Slater type tackle that is pretty much a sure thing, these guys can need some time to develop year 1 just like a QB ideally should. They all haven't played the elite 5 star talent on the edge. If we think another franchise tackle has dropped to us at 19, you have to pull the trigger. The position is just too damn hard to find. If it's just a "we need a tackle and this guy has a T on the board", yeah, move on, take one in the later rounds. But if that guy is there, let him back up and learn a year, then slide him into LT on year 2 of his rookie deal.  I don't see us being able to offer Walker a multi year contract after a prove it year, pay Moton his final almost fully guaranteed year, Hunt, Lewis a center and do a 50-60m extension for Bryce. The 3 most important positions on the field are QB, blindside tackle (usually LT), and edge rusher. Those are the premium positions that cost the most and are hardest to come by. If a starting caliber talent is there at 19 you have to pull the trigger.  I understand the need for a DT and S. I've been on the C and FS train for years. If we weren't staring at a potential Bryce extension, it'd make the decision a lot easier I think. It's just with all these huge contracts I don't see how we can hedge our bets on being able or even wanting to re-sign Walker, especially if he has a bad year. Icky and BC's injuries really hurt our long term plans.  If no blue chip talent at those 3 key positions are available at 19, by all means pass and draft another position. But I think it's pretty safe to say we don't have a guaranteed lock at any of them right now beyond Phillips, and they have to be somewhat of a priority.
    • Not completely accurate. I'm sure Roy is lobbying for him and Larry Brown has spoke put in support too. But Hansbrough has made comments pretty critical and hinting at a need for change. Joel Berry has gone a step further and said the standard has not been met. Scott Williams who was a teammate of Hubert's at Carolina has gone all the way and said it's time for a change at head coach.
