Grier is not competition, he's insurance, mitigation and a project. Hopefully he becomes a quality backup for years to come and Cam heals up to continue being a beast.

In a perfect world, we get another 10 productive years out of Cam, but Grier comes in here and there and just dominates, so we trade him in 4 years for a stupidly high draft pick, and still get 5 or 6 more years out of Cam.

This is the hope.  6 TO 7 Cam years and in 2 years we flip Grier for a stupid high pick..

He is smarter than people think. He's giving up millions on NFL contracts while insuring tens or hundreds of millions of dollars in endorsements, etc. because he's the GOAT on a dynasty team, that his lower salary helps to augment.
