ESPN Ranking NFL QB Commitments : Guess Where Cam/Panthers Are?

I mean..the entire point of the article is how entrenched a team is to their current QB based on their current contract.  Hence Ryan, Wilson, Rodgers are at the top of the list.  They just signed big extensions.

All the ranking did was give us a list of QBs with years/gtd money left on their current contract, and put them in order.  Outside of Cousins everyone in the top 10 has what..3+ years left?  Where cousins has 2, but is 100% gtd money.

Cam can't hold anything back this season.  Dive on fumbles, fight for rushing yards, all the little things.  He's never going to be one of the top pocket passers, but if he can show grit and will in sacrificing his body, then he puts himself in the best chance to lock up another big contract.

Oye. Dude has been sacrificing his body since the day he got here. Every game he puts himself out there and takes beating after beating fighting for every yard. It tells a lot about you if you don't think that and can only look to that one play in a game where he was getting beat mercilessly and illegally by the Broncos who had the benefit of a team of refs who turned a blind eye towards it.

Thats what got us in this situation in the first place.  Cam needs to now play with some sense and protect his body if he has any hope of playing successfully into his late 30's.  He is now 30 years old, and is not a kid anymore.  All those hits and nagging little injuries add up over time.  He is not invincible.

Cringeworthy

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see what 2019 means for Cam;

If his shoulder is fully healed and he has a good season it’s probably 30+million. Personally I would want to see consecutive years of this play.

If he falls apart again, it’s probably the last year he wears black n blue. Probably a good chance he hangs up the cleats.

The best scenario for all Panthers fans is for Cam and this offense to ball out in 2019. If he falters the franchise is going to be in limbo once again. No one knows what the future holds for Grier, but in the event Will would have to step in there is also no reality where we don't in all likelihood end up drafting another QB early probably in the first. If you've given any reasonable attention to the struggles other franchises have had in adding even halfway elite talent to the QB position long term you know it's anything but a quick process.

As for the continued existence of these lizard people hot takes about Cam and diving for a fumble, if you just don't like the dude, come out and say it. Stop blowing smoke.

Funny thing is that dude said his piece in here and got called out for it being dumb and he hasn't shown his face since. Cowardly

Seriously anyone who has watched cam over the years knows not just the beating he takes regularly and more often than most QBs, shots to the head that refs have allowed and he keeps coming back play after play. He's come back sometimes probably before he should have. Why? because he's a competitor and he's committed.

If you've watched him you know that he risks a lot trying to move the chains and he takes massive hits. We've seen him leap trying to reach a first down or the goal line and get hit hard and flipped or spun around and we have been amazed that he gets back up smiling and chewing his gum.

The fact that people go back to that one instance in a game that the refs had made certain our team wasn't going to win and see a ball rolling on the ground and think that cam not jumping on it somehow shows who he is as a competitor or looks at it as a defining moment....it just bothers me. What defines him is the competitor spirit and real grit he shows game after game after game. One moment does not define a person unless you are blind/narrow-minded, dumb, or have an agenda.

He doesn't like people being judgmental towards him. Only he has the right to judge others.

It is forever laughable the Falcons paid Matty Meltdown $30M and he needs five 1st Rounders on the Oline to be effective.

Imagine Cam with that kind of OL...

The shoulder is the question. His future here and our season all depends on that.

I would venture to say Cam's departure would hurt us for multiple seasons before we recovered.
