Record Prediction

Alright put your money where your mouth is and go on record predicting how the Panthers will do this year.

I'm assuming Cam finishes the whole season healthy in my scenario.

1 / Rams / L one of the most complete teams in the NFL

2 / Buccaneers / W Winston is and always will be trash

3 / Cardinals / W Hopefully our defense will be enough to stop rookie KM

4 / Texans / L With Watson healthy this could be a tough one

5 / Jaguars / W They have a tough defense but if you can stuff Fournette they're beatable

6 / Buccaneers / W I think we sweep them

7 / BYE

8 / 49ers / W Nothing to it but to do it

9 / Titans / W I think our momentum carries us to a 4 game winning streak

10 / Packers / L I think it'll be a solid year for AR

11 / Falcons / W I think we beat them at home

12 / Saints / L Quite frankly I think they draft better than us

13 / Redskins / W With the current state of the Redskins we should win

14 / Falcons / L I think we split this series and lose at their home

15 / Seahawks / W Their defense has taken a lot of blows

16 / Colts / W Should be a solid win without Luck there

17 / Saints / L I think they sweep us quite honestly

(10-6) second in the division

Cam, CMC, DJ, Burns, Luke, Donte, and Reid all go to the Pro-Bowl

This is just nitpicking, but we're not sending 7 players to the pro bowl with a 10-6 record. In 2017, we went 11-5 and only sent 4 players to the pro bowl and that's including Gano. You also have one player from basically each level of the defense, one of which is a rookie, going to the pro bowl, yet you have us getting swept by the Saints and struggling against the Texans.

Again, no offense. I understand that these are just opinions. I just find it interesting that you have faith in our most important players to ball out, but you don't have faith in the team as a whole.

As for me, I think there's a real shot that they go 12-4 if they can stay relatively healthy. I'm very optimistic about this defense as long as Rivera doesn't give up the reigns.

Wins:  vs Bucs, at Cardinals, at Niners, Jaguars, Falcons, Seahawks, at Colts, Redskins at Bucs

Losses:  Saints, at Saints, at Falcons, Rams, at Texans, at Packers, Titans

9-7

just good enough to keep Ron and Marty but not good enough for the playoffs

12. Saints / L

13. Redskins / W

14. Falcons / L

15. Seahawks / W

16. Colts / W

The Texans have Matt Kalil starting. Their oline is terrible. That’s an easy win.

We alway lose after the bye so expect a L there. Titans should be good this year too.

I see a 9 or 10 win season.

    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
    • "In fact, they’ve worn silver pants just six times since 2023. Compare it to the number of times they’ve worn black (20), white (15) or process blue (11) pants in those same seasons and you start to wonder how long it’ll be before they promote their black alternate helmets to primary status and phase out silver entirely" Basically this - just eliminate silver from the colour scheme. Maybe experiment with white matte helmets as an alternate to the black ones too.
    • Ideally every player would win the job in a fair competition. Beat out the guy in front of you. If you can.     If XL is in front of a draft pick, the draft pick needs to beat him out. Whoever is in front of him.  Should be the way of the world.     Aside from that if they do want to trade XL they should give him a chance to rehabilitate his rep and up his value. Showcase.   But then if he proves he is worth something you want to trade him away?  I do  no t think we would save all his guaranteed money, for one.  Not sure though.     And finally, today I posted about Bryce throwing it away on 4th down.   It got me thinking of the mental stuff with XL. What Bryce did was just about as bad as XL’s mental lapses in terms of being ignorant.   I bet there are some Bryce supporting XL haters here, that one is for you.
