Along with these 2 what would be Reids reaction. Isn't Smith the one that had the influence bringing Reid in.

The locker room has plenty of leadership. I’m sure they will miss the guy, but my guess is they’ll be ok.

What they need most is production.

  Which is exactly why you don’t carry him all the way to the season then cut him. Do it February. 

 I referenced this exact same scenario when many were arguing it was ok to keep him until now.

It also cost us $1.2M since we guaranteed that amount when he agreed to his pay cut. Not really the end of the world and it was a hedge in case we did need him.
