Remember when Drew Bledsoe got replace by Tom Brady?

Not saying that Kyle Allen will be Tom Brady, but...remember that?  The Patriots were done without Bledose.  Brady was a 6th round pick out of Michigan.  NOBDODY predicted his success.  He's pretty much the GOAT now.  Hell, I remember myself talking to other people saying the Pats were dead. And btw, at that time the Pats weren't poo, kind of like we are now.

Kyle Allen has had a couple of pretty damn good games. And I'll be the first to admit that the Saints game last year was bullshit in my mind.  But if he can keep this up, then count me in.

And in how many rose bowls did Allen threw for over 300 and 4 touchdowns?

Brady was miss-scouted by an conservative coor still thinking the deep ball was the number one, two and three priority.

No knock on Allen (we can always hope), just saying chill a little.

I think all the Brady talk is nuts.

But I do remember an UDFA balling out and taking us to the Super Bowl at QB.

If he has a career like Jake, I will take it.  I think he's more accurate and has a stronger arm than Jake tho.

negative spin #237,082 from Linville

I mean, he has a point. I doubt he is displeased with Allen.

Allen looked great but let's see him this week, next week, the week after, etc.

Let's especially see him when our opponents get more tape on him. That will be a big indicator, IMO.

    • This And with possibly needing to replace Bryce next year and a deep QB class, I do not hate the idea of moving far enough back to pick up another 1st rounder next year out of the deal. I wouldn't have said that a week ago, but I also never expected us to land 3 big FA's at our 3 biggest positions of need like we have, it totally changes things.
    • The OL has certainly been better than the trainwreck it was three or four years ago. As far as competitiveness let's apply some realism and clarity here. Quite a bit of the competitiveness in 2025 came from the defensive side of the ball which gave up the most points in league history the year before and was one of the bottom 5 units in terms of salary cap allocation for 2025 while the OL was top 3. We had the 26th passing offense last year. And if not for a herculean couple of games from Rico Dowdle we don't back our way into the division title or make the playoffs because we went 4-6 in our final ten games including being swept by the Saints who were starting a rookie 2nd round pick most of us mercilessly mocked when they selected him. In conclusion yes we've seen a difference. The question now is will the investment pay off the way we want. But the only way that happens is if we field a top 15 offense. If we can't even crack the top 20 then there need to be some very warm seats across the board. And I would hope just about anyone here should agree with that.
    • These Spurs are lowkey loaded.  If healthy, they could win it all this year (#2 in the West right now). I still think we’ve gotta keep Kalk on Wemby; he’s not getting completely dominated like every other NBA center.
