Heard them on WFNZ this morning, will share a couple highlights:

Lewis says without a healthy Cam we don’t make the playoffs

Have to pay both Shaq and Bradberry.

Gave Ron a lot of credit for turning the D around, said he’s one of the best defensive minds in the game

Said the o-line can be good if players are put in their natural positions

Donnelly also praised the defense and how Ron has turned it around

Also thinks we come up short without Cam

likes the o-line talent, thinks we will see better play as guys get comfortable

Interesting...do you guys think Allen can lead us to the playoffs? I have no reason to not think he can.

We aren't going to know the answer to that for a bit, IMO. We have won two games on the road against poor to above average teams(so far, TBD also). It's a start but I don't think we know the full story on Allen yet. Most teams also are just now getting good tape on him.

Most interesting thing I heard was Lewis saying that Butler is a beast in practice but doesn't understand how it disappears on game day.

Well we got to hope the light comes on now that he's going to be active every week.

If he wants any sort of long-term 2nd contract (although probably not here), he needs to show something finally.

Good thing we ended up keeping him and signing McCoy, who is going to obviously get the number of snaps he wants now.

Was looking forward to how dominant this defense could have been with all our weapons, but we got to move forward.

Glad we have some actual depth this year

Here's the thing, how long has he been the HC? Why has it taken this long to do thos? Why did it have to be turned around? Who made the situation such that it needed to be turned around?

One man: Ron.

Tepper should be praised for making Rivera do this.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
