Speculation is Cam will start after the bye.

Makes sense.  He will have missed 4 games and roughly 6.5 weeks.  I would think had they not thought he would be back around then they would have opted for IR.

I think everyone's concern will be his conditioning, both physical and mental (i.e. being up to processing at game-speed).

We need him back truly at 100% and able to do the things in the passing and running game we are used to seeing.

We really can't afford Cam the time to "knock off rust" once he returns.

Our first game back is at SF (currently the only unbeaten NFC team) in what will be a hostile environment.  The schedule doesn't get easier from that point on through the end of the year playing the Saints.

I know there has been speculation that Cam might be out all year or as few as 6 weeks. Seems the current speculation is for a week 8 return.

Looks like that game is on October 27th....26 days from now.

I wonder how many days of practice Cam will need to get under his belt before he is 110% prepared to play from a reps & fitness perspective?

5?  10?  15?  More?

I think he is mentally done. It just feels more like he is going through the motions. He is not the same, swag and drip QB we have seen the last 8 years.

Being hurt will do that to you.

Cam will feel good once he’s playing well

Cam is a complicated person and nobody like you or me have the professional expertise to evaluate him mentally. I just think he has matured a lot and being hurt so much has probably humbled him. There has probably never been a time in his life where he wasn't the best player on the field. He just isn't used to it and accepting that cant be easy. I expect him to come back and be the Cam of old once he is truly ready

    • His first season. I saw it with my own eyes, others saw it too. Old man Dalton had to come in to make the throw. I watch every game. You must of just missed it. He had another chance a couple of weeks ago from the 50 and didn't even attempt to throw it to the endzone....cause he cant.
    • I would say if they put Corbett back at center, that would be evidence of some kind of favoritism thing going on.  I would have to ask if our coaches are leaders of men.  So they bet not do some stupid stuff like that.  It would be one thing if Corbett had pedigree at the position, a probowler.  This dude has never been a good center in the slightest, and only looked decent at the guard position in the past. (Which I don't believe he ever had a fully healthy season as a Panther)    So this shouldn't even be a discussion if you're the coaches.  But again, Corbett never should have been the starter in the first place.  I know we're armchair coaching when it comes to these things, but before the season, I was rooting for Mays to win the position.  The guy played a key role in Bryce's surgence last year.  Why mess up that combination?  And they did mess up the combination by making Corbett the starter.  It could be we might of won against the Jags had Mays been the starter. (Yes, I believe it was that critical)  We know Mays went in late against the Cards, where Bryce began looking better at the end. (Though the Cards played soft coverage)  So all these things says Cade Mays is the better center for the team.  Yet certainly he is the better center for Bryce if nothing else.
    • He was our best YAC guy in 2023 and 4th in 2024(behind Hubbard, Sanders, Coker). He was a great and productive WR for us because he knows how to play the game, he had a connection with Bryce specifically and our other options have largely been atrocious.
