Cam has played 125 regular season games and has never won 5 straight without throwing a pick. Kyle did that in his first 5 games.

I'm at a lame 50/50 right now as to who I want to start after the bye, but if anyone tries poo-poohing what Kyle Allen has done or tells you that it's offensive or moronic to want Kyle to keep starting, just show them that stat. Kyle makes the least amount of money on the team and his best days are clearly still ahead of him. Cam makes the most amount of money and his best days are clearly behind him. It's a very tough decision as to who starts going forward no matter what anybody says.

Kyle has been great for what he is. But he also hasn’t been nearly as much a one man show as Cam’s had to be the majority of his career. Allen makes less mistakes for sure, but also fewer big plays.  My opinion remains the same as it was after his two poor games. Thrilled to have Allen as our backup, can’t wait for Cam to get healthy.

It’s not that easy.  Kyle Allen has never won an MVP or ran the ball for more than 4 yards.  Not poo poing KA but you can cherry pick a stat or two.
A healthy  Cam is a better QB and athlete than KA but I thing at this point in time (winning and it making mistakes ) KA is a better choice at QB.  At some point KA gets benched for Cam but it won’t be in SF.

And I'm not saying to keep starting Allen. I just want the man to get the respect he's earned. There was a stupid Twitter thread that went semi-viral on Panthers Twitter last week that showed how Allen "doesn't really know how to play QB". What a joke. To be so good so early as an undrafted guy and to not throw any picks...it's really just amazing. If they keep riding Allen, I'll completely get it.

For me the difference is that Allen’s “big play” ability is that he sustains drives. He also makes the lay up throws that Cam sometimes misses and it makes it easier for the offense to stay on the field. The big plays come from the weapons doing it for Allen. Maybe some of that isn’t fair to say as we haven’t seen Cam truly healthy this year. But if I had to compare their games that would be one difference.

He’s definitely not the playmaking stud Cam is but we also haven’t seen Allen peak yet and you can’t deny that the team has something going on right now.

The Panthers are looking like a playoff team. I’m  very torn on it because I love Cam to death but at this point I don’t see Ron jeopardizing a win steak until Allen gets exploited or plays really bad.

We don't have to prop up one player by bashing another, then cherry pick stats to support a narrative. I am happy with the way Kyle Allen is playing and he shouldn't be pulled until Cam is 100% healthy. However, there should be a serious discussion if he wins at San Fran whether he should hold the job permanently for the rest of the season.

    • I was assuming Blackshear was gone anyway. Or at least PS.
    • I literally read this 15 minutes ago, but it sums up my feelings perfectly. FYI, the article was about 3 players on the bubble. The author's opinion seems to be Horn is a lock and Renfrow and Moore are fighting for that last spot. David Moore, WR The Panthers' wide receiver room is crowded. There aren't many available spots, at least from the outside looking in. That raises the stakes considerably for those further down the pecking order fighting for recognition. David Moore is among them. The former seventh-round selection is a trusted ally of Dave Canales from three separate NFL stops. He's a solid if not spectacular player, although he underwhelmed when tasked with significant responsibilities during the previous campaign. Moore is battling it out for the sixth wideout spot alongside Hunter Renfrow, Kobe Hudson, and Jacolby George. It could go either way, but Canales' faith and his ability to impact special teams might be enough to get a reprieve."
    • Until LaMelo is traded, this is an unserious organization anyway. There's an insane lack of talent, and the talent all comes with baggage and injury concerns.  I assume the OP was about passing on Ace...but he's exactly the type of prospect doomed to bust here and compound on to the problems with all of his rumored sketchiness.
