IMO, if your future HOF QB is healthy, prepared, and ready. He absolutely gets his job back.

Agreed.

That said, he won't be "prepared and ready" after 1-week of practice.  He will need at least 4-weeks of regular practice to be prepared and ready.

I think Redskins on 12/1 is the absolute earliest he we will be back. (if he comes back at all this year)

You and me both know that if cam was inserted back into the lineup in the middle of a 8-0 kyle allen win streak and cam proceeded to continue his losing streak, absolute chaos would erupt.

That's the rub. If Kyle is on an insane run like that. How do you justify putting Cam back in? But you have to find out where Cam is at also. Tough call by all concerned.

Then again. He will have been around the building. He will have been at practice. The team should have a good handle on when exactly Cam can come back.

If after all that, and the team pust Cam back in. You have to believe they believe he is ready. If they put Cam back in before he is ready, other than Kyle imploded anyway, they will never live it down.

Edit to add. If they mess this up. It could get real ugly.

Kyle Bailey used an interesting descriptor on Riverboat after the press conference he had when the news first broke that Cam was not in practice (the Tuesday after the Buc's game)...

...he described ol' River as a "human meat shield for the organization".

So, back to your question...

...questions are being asked because there's a gigantic void of information, and, the pablum that does get spooned out by Rivera is a a gigantic pile of steaming dung.

Let's look at how the Saints have handled the Drew Brees injury....

....clarified it upon happening > told us Drew stayed behind in LA to see a hand specialist > a few days later told us Drew was flying back to LA for the operation > a day or two later told us Drew couldn't travel to Seattle to be on the sideline because the surgeon wanted him to stay put > not long after that told us Drew intended to be on the sideline of all games going forward > gave us an expected timeline for Drew's return based on how the Doctor advised them > Brees went on record with a more optimistic return date based on his own personal feelings > they released a video of Drew who was already throwing an undersized football.....

....questions aren't being asked there because it's crystal clear what is going on with Drew Brees.

With Cam Newton.....it's one big smokescreen....

.....people see smoke and think there must be a fire....

Yeah that’s my point, Rivera and company either don’t know how to handle the situation, by creating a smokescreen or they do, and are giving open ended answers because they don’t want distractions among the team.

knowing how Rivera operates it could be either or a little of both, media is going to ask those questions it’s there job, but within the organization I gotta believe they know what the plan is

I've never heard Rivera say anything other than "Cam Newton is our starter"...until now.

Why are the questions being asked? That's easy. We're winning and Kyle Allen looks good. Plus he's younger and infinitely less expensive than Newton.

(and yes, those things will factor into the ultimate decision if Allen continues as he has)

Yeah but what questions behind closed doors? I would say any serious questions about cam’s future or Kyle’s can’t be answer with only a 5 game sample size.

Hence why I said the media’s agenda is separate from our own, I’m sure the question has been asked whether Kyle CAN replace cam behind closed doors but if 5 games is all that it takes we could be headed towards our doom.

You guys can hope all you want. If Cam is 100%, he's back in. We should be just happy that we have a good backup. Mr. Scotty has over 84,000 post and 1000's of threads and every time it has something to with Cam, there's a negative aspect to it. Allen has 5 starts and he already made a completely positive threads about him. Keep pounding lol

What if it's not up to the Panthers?   We are all assuming that Cam wants to come back to football and wants to play for the Panthers.

Probably safe assumptions but ....   After watching that video he put out I felt like 'there's a guy that's bled his last drop for his employer'.

Dude has meant so much for this franchise and this city - it's a shame if he doesn't get the hollywood ending.

prepare yourself for the fact this hollywood ending almost never happens in the NFL, regardless of how the current situation plays out.

The element that makes Newton uniquely tough to defend as a quarterback will get scaled back, one would assume, moving forward. That does elicit a valid question: does he still provide more value than Kyle Allen as a pocket passer?

If you’re of the belief that Cam will still run the ball 7 to 10 times a game with effectiveness, then sure, there’s no reason to not want him back. If you’re just going to sit him back there in the pocket, I’m not entirely certain how much value that brings to this offense.

Yep.

People are pretty passionate about Newton getting the ending that he deserves, or just stating that he doesn't deserve this.

That may be true, but the game of football doesn't really care.

Thomas Davis never wanted to play for any team but the Panthers and wanted to leave with a ring. He spent last night playing for the Chargers, and they're probably not going to the Super Bowl this year.

Julius Peppers was an amazing talent who probably stuck around longer than he should have trying to get a ring. It didn't happen, and it's not going to, but not for lack of trying.

Heck, look back at the guys that just got inducted into the team Ring of Honor. Did any of them go out in a blaze of glory? Afraid not. The closest thing to a happy ending was Ryan Kalil singing "Happy Trails" to Jordan Gross.

This is just how it is, guys. All too often it sucks, but there's not a whole lot that can be done to change that.

In fact, there's not anything at all.
