Most fan bases are the same.

If Brady comes out next season and starts 1-5, they will eat him alive

If he’s playing with a known injured shoulder and foot through that losing streak? Doubt it.

I don’t know why we can’t just be extremely happy that they’re saying Cam is healing up nicely. That’s two qbs that can win us games. we are extremely fortunate. Why must people put Cam down (lying through their teeth) to prop up someone else?

This

Had Allen not emerged as that capable backup that can weather us through the storm while Cam is out.  I bet Ron would've put Cam in before he was 100%

Now this allows Cam to FULLY get healthy, something we haven't been able to let him do in a few seasons.

Rivera still needs a good season to keep his job, so I dont think he puts Cam in until he knows and see's Cam is 100%.

When he does, I trust the staff that Cam is ready because they are putting their jobs on the line with that decision

Also no way I trade Allen even if Cam comes back 100% and leads us to the super bowl. Having a backup that can come in with confidence to manage the game is incredibly valuable. And we have him for 2 more years no matter what.

Agreed. Unless a team offers the whole farm for him, keeping Kyle should be an absolute priority from Hurney.

Agreed.  Allen is a young, developing QB that has proven he can step in and win - or at least, not turn over the ball and lose - so he is worth more to us as a backup for the forseeable future.

That may change in future years, but not right now.

I find myself going to reddit for panthers stuff and it is overwhelmingly pro-cam and getting him back in healthy while still giving major props to Kyle. Trolls get downvoted into oblivion. And it’s one or two comments not much. Most talk football and X’s and O’s. It’s just when I read this board and team social media where I can’t even fathom how fuging stupid people can actually be.

jeremy does a terrible job moderating this board.

its not just reddit, but catscratchreader too. The trolls run the huddle cause the mods let them.

The odds are probably better for Cam to return to form than they are for Kyle Allen to prove to be a long-term viable starter.

You're saying it's more likely for an older player who's been suffering from injuries for 3 or 4 years to look like he was 5 years younger again than it is for a young player to improve and get better with practice and experience?

Not so sure I buy those odds.

I don't think Cam was bad in the first game.

He wasn’t.

You can tell the exact play he hurt his foot (again) vs Tampa and his play noticeably went downhill.  I mean he went from a sore foot to a hurt foot.
