Person: Possible "Tug of War" coming

Definitely interesting. Tug of war possibilities:

1. Cam and his people vs. the coaching staff (if Cam thinks he’s back to 100% and Ron wants to drag it out to avoid the tough decision and keep playing Kyle)

2. Tepper vs. coaching staff (Ron wants to go back to Cam, Tepper wants to see what he has for the future and doesn’t trust Cam’s health)

3. (unlikely) Hurney vs. Ron (could be possible as someone else suggested that Hurney wants Cam and Ron wants Allen but I don’t think that Hurney has any real say in the matter so this is unlikely and Ron would go with who he wants)

4. Kyle vs. Cam (meaning by their play on the field, or the risk/reward between them. If Cam starts practicing and is “100%” but doesn’t look amazing in practice while Kyle keeps up has play, that’s a lot different than Cam coming into practice dropping dimes)

I think the most likely is number 1 to be honest.

I think it is another one you haven’t mentioned.  Norv.
Garcia was talking the other day on how fluid the offense is being run under Allen. How consistency is so important to OC.
In Norv’s system when the QB hits his drop the ball should be coming out. (And yes I know the split times of their releases.)
My gut tells me Norv is very content while maybe RR or Hurney wants to go back to Cam.
Either way the SF game could give us a good indication what that direction could be.

Blaming Daryl Williams for the original foot injury against the Pats might literally be the dumbest thing I’ve seen on these boards. Please go watch that play again.

It was a 6 man blitz that was actually blocked well and all of the pressure came up the middle.

Reality doesn't matter. Throwing poo at the wall to see what sticks is the only objective.

You do have a valid point. Cant 100% put it on him but I'm more point out at what he did on this play which is little to nothing.

I mean are you suggesting he should have completely abandoned his assignment and run halfway across the line to help Paradis and CMC while letting #30 get a free shot on Cam? Daryl was perfect on that play. That a 200 lbs DB backed off because he didn’t want to get his ass buried into the turf isn’t DW’s fault. He still had to be there to stop him.

Cam would never be released outright, so regardless he’ll get his $20M or whatever it is next year. And he’ll likely be playing either here or somewhere else so he’d have plenty of time to prove himself for his next contract. I don’t get the sense he’s trying to rush back again.

I thought I read someplace that we could save several million dollars by releasing him.

Probably between Cam saying he's ready and the staff saying nah not yet.

^Bingo!!!

Cam wants to come back, organization doesn't want to mess with the mojo and holds him out until a) they feel he's @ 100 %; or b) Allen wets the bed at some point.

That is assuming that Grier progresses enough to be a potential starter.  That is assuming a lot from what we saw in pre season Grier.

Allen didn't exactly light it up in the preseason either. It gives me some hope for WG to do better if pressed into action. Maybe next preseason, we'll see more.

Grier is very talented but he looked like hot garbage in preseason.  He needed a full season on the bench but there is absolutely no way he will be ok being #3
