Is this the biggest game of the past couple of seasons?

I mean, I felt like last week was pretty damn important. Can’t lose twice to the Bucs in one season and go to 3-3. Lost to the 49ers and go to 4-3, well it’s not the end of the world. In terms of making a statement as a legit NFC contender, yes this week is a big damn deal.

It's a pretty huge game. I think London was actually more truly make or break in terms of playoff leverage, though I haven't seen this week's leverage % chart. Certainly the fact that most of the teams above us have very easy games this week adds a lot of pressure to win to keep pace.

This week is huge though too in terms of the quality of the opponent (though who they've played could make that a bit deceiving) and what it could do for Panthers confidence and the attention it brings.

The 2013 wins vs SF and NE come to mind as does the 2015 win at Seattle.

It does have a lot of echoes of last year at Pittsburgh too. So, while I want a W, above all I just desperately hope for a respectable close game and no serious injuries.

Yes

it is a nfc conference game. Panthers have lost a division game and a conference game. In a tie break situation, even for a wild card position, this game is huge

49ers coach did pretty good against Ron’s 4 3 in the past. Let’s see how he does this year with Ron’s tweaked defense

....then Ron’s tendency to go into a shell with a lead

offensively, conservative on first down won’t work in this game.

do I think the 49ers are over rated, maybe but as per Parcells ‘you are what your record says you are’

looking forward to this to see who the Panthers are

    • We have without question one of the worst QB rooms in the league and your key concern is people having the audacity to be talking about it lol.
    • I saw this list crossing the screen waiting for any Panther.  Chubba, JC Horn and Hunt.  It was a crime to see so many that were not as good as these three.  ESPN is garbage anyhow.
    • Bingo!  We are on the same page.  Our scouting department was average under Hurney, but at least we hit hit it out of the park with our first rounders.  Our scouting department under Tepper's reign with his revolving doors of HCs and GMs has sucked because the scouts largely stay in place.  One or two may change every few years, but the core philosophy stays in place and I believe that to be heavily RAS influenced.    Looking the part of a football player (physical/athletic measurables) vastly outweighs putting on the tape and deep diving into his stats with our scouting department. Until we change that mindset, this team is doomed. Again, how many of us Huddlers (none of us are professional scouts) wanted McConkey over Legette? Yet, we went with XL.  Why?  RAS score, pure and simple.  If you put on the tape and look at the numbers without taking RAS into account, McConkey was the clear choice.
