Will OL coach John Matsko be the scapegoat?

The offensive line is very very bad. There has been a lot of money and high draft picks spent on the line this season. Seems like a perfect scapegoat after watching that abysmal performance

Agreed. While i also concur with most that kyle isnt the answer long term at qb, no qb would have consistent success throwing behind this oline. Desperately need a franchise LT.

It's one of three things only.  Either the GM isn't bringing in the right talent, the OL coach isn't doing their job or the head coach isn't holding anyone responsible for their lack of performance.  It could be all three actually.

Honestly, I'd be fine with it.

I've defended Matsko plenty in the past, but this OL has been utter trash this year and there are plenty of high picks and/or decently played players along the OL that he undoubtedly had input on.

Rookie LTs that are hurt, JAG LG, center coming of leg injury that looks like trash, turner getting fat on his contract at RG, DW looks worse than Bell, Moton is meh.

What the hell is the guys supposed to do with the chicken poo hes been handed.

 

Oh and lets not forget Ron's immense talent for talent evaluation and putting guys in the best place for success.

We've never replaced Gross and there's where the first problem lies.  Success in the NFL really surrounds 3 core positions: QB, LT and DE.  Before anyone gets it twisted, yes, other spots are essential to success since it is a team sport, but those are unquestionably the building blocks.

There could not be a worse scapegoat than Matsko.  A guy considered one of the GOATs cant knit this line together but we need a fresh set of eyes right?  Ok.

He gets a pass in my book.  He has had to make a line out of pure trash for so long.  Should they be better? Yes.  But a defense with 8 first round picks has been more of an issue this year.
