Cam won’t say what he really thinks. He will tow the company line so hoping to hear anything more is useless.

Exactly right. Cam has never, ever said anything bad in public about anyone.
there are signs to me that Tepper likes him...things like Tepper and his wife showing up for the thanksgiving jam

For one month, don’t recall seeing any pictures of Tepper with Ron, at all

Cam has *no* leverage here at all.

Cam is under contract next year.  Cam can choose to hold out, sure.  But that certainly doesn't help him.  He's a 31 year old QB who hasn't been fully healthy in three years.  If he holds out and never reports, he ends up a Panther in 2021 because he didn't fulfill his contract.  Then he's a 32 year old QB who hasn't played in two years coming off three years of shaky health.  That doesn't scream "big contract" to me.

So he holds out and shows up late, just in time to say he fulfilled his contract . . . I think that's sometime before the 8th game.  So now you have a QB who hasn't had any reps, in a new offensive system (presumably) coming off multiple injury plagued seasons and not in football shape coming to the table for a team that will be vastly different and doesn't know him?  Come on.  Does that sound like "success" to you?

The bottom line is that if the Panthers want him, he'll be here next year.  He has a lot to prove.  I like Cam.  I think his career has been wasted by a coaching staff that wanted to coddle him instead of develop him.  But the bottom line is the Panthers hold the cards.

Again, he has tremendous trade value.  That is his leverage.  Cam doesn’t have to play a snap again.   He isn’t some random player.  He isn’t some random okay RB.   But he would be a valuable asset....that doesn’t want play....eating up a YUGE chuck of that oh so valuable salary cap.

Agree to disagree.  Both sides are in a position to dictate to a large degree.

It won’t be because we won’t actually ever hear how he truly feels. He’ll thank Ron and give a lot of praise for being a great man, coach and mentor. You won’t get much more than that.

And that’s exactly what it was.

He posted it to his IG story. Nothing more.

Cam's a bigger man than I am. My broke shoulder and foot would make me petty.

Thinking about it.. how much of that is Ron's fault and not the gm who put together the line that protects cam.. and the offensive coordinator who calls the plays.. Ron might have been the biggest cam endorser with little really control on how he was used..
