What we're learning about David Tepper

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

Things we've definitely learned...

- Number one, in-season firings? Not a problem (clearly).

- He's got a close relationship with the Kraft family (that one turns all kinds of things on their head).

- He wants to expand the football operations (woefully neglected under Jerry Richardson).

- He wants a coach who believes heavily in analytics (already knew that one, but it's valid).

Things we might be learning...

- He may be looking more at the Patriot Way than the Steeler Way (or an amalgam of the two).

- Might be okay with retreads (if the above is so)

- Is apparently going to handle the head coaching search himself.

- Also expected to go after an offensive head coach.

Get ready for an interesting offseason.

As much as I despise Brady and Belichick, I am grudgingly forced to admit their skill, thus I can live with The Patriot way if it involves NOT getting lockedinto any particular mindset except winning. (Something I admire about Belicheck, he’s not married to any particular scheme system etc) but doesn’t involve cheating.

I am excited again to be a Panthers's fan. I don't know how all this shakes down but we have a chance at being better. There are definitely some scary possibilities moving forward but this team needed a change and they finally got one. I hope he can keep up the great work.

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
