Personality Conflicts

Yea there was a conflict....Rivera is a bitch and tries to hold literal 3 point leads starting in the first quarter.

Tepper wants aggression and intelligence and Rivera wants to play his CBs about 50 yards further back than regulation soccer fields are long. Then he stares derp faced while he gets out coached and has his specialty carved up by offensive juggernauts like the Redskins as teams line up and literally say "hey we are running it up the gut" so Rivera backs his CBs off far as he can and watches as the telegraphed run goes for 5-TD yards.

Well, I bought into it when he said that Newton was going to be out several more weeks... Oh wait, that happened.

But yeah, I bought into it when he said that Newton was about to go on injured reserve and... Oh wait, that happened too.

And hell, it wasn't that long ago I fell for his belief that Ron Rivera wasn't going to keep his jo... Oh yeah.

But hey, doggone it, I'm not sure why I even pay any attention to this guy

When Ron started using the term 100% healthy, it was a hint that Cam wouldn't return anytime soon. After the Green Bay visit it was obvious Cam disagreed with team doctors, so placing him on IR was expected.

Seems like most of the conflict was with Ron and Cam, for whatever reason.

You don’t think Tepper told anyone in the organization about his reasoning? Like the GM or President or even Ron himself when he fired him? Then maybe that person told someone else lower down in the organization who told a reporter?

I dont think that would have happened in a day. Most people are smart enough not to speak of such things. Especially given the situation.

All I've read describes Ron as a super person 'and a good coach'.  To me this is code for "no one feels threatened by Ron".   You have to give props to someone who is a hard worker but unless they have the brains and ambition to keep people a little bit on their heels - they are not management material.

I have to believe Tepper had this insight about Ron (and Hurney) in the first 10 minutes of talking to him/ them.

Why it took Tepper so long to make changes is beyond me.

Do you really believe Tepper or a military background guy like Rivera were running around dishing on their meeting? Lol okay then

I think it was just more getting crushed by teams and Tepper wanting to move on. Rivera just didn't work anymore and was given every opportunity to succeed. He should have been fired last year but was given two years and didn't produce.

My reaction is why anyone was surprised by this.

Even beyond the losses it was the way(s) we found to lose.  And specifically losing big in National games and crapping the bed at home.  Hard to build a franchise with the bad losses and bad beats we've had since Tepper bought in.

In terms of personality conflicts, I'm wondering how much more we'll hear from Ron's side about the Cam injuries and the decision to play through them.

But in terms of the Carolina Panthers, this is an exciting time.

I wish someone could tell me why Tepper loves Hurney so much

We were losing....owner was pissed...and he wanted to coach to fix it and he didnt

theres your conflict

the rest does not matter, except this little tidbit of wisdom:

Tepper is a Virgo and Rivera a Capricorn.  Never would have worked.
