Would you have re-signed Thompson ahead of Bradberry?

Hi I’d like 2 2 topping thin crust pizzas with an order of wings and a 2 liter of cheerwine. My numbers in your system and my card’s on file. Yes I’ll hold.

Wait.

Almost forgot the most important thing.

Don’t hire McDorkface.

They're having that debate on the radio right now, and it's pretty good question.

Contract negotiations are complicated things. Just because you offer a contract doesn't mean the player will accept it. But the base question is still a valid one.

So which player would you have prioritized, and why?

Considering what we have fielded with that position over the past few years, Bradberry is the priority.

You are out of your mind if you think the upper tier CB salary is 4 million per year

What on Earth are you smoking, and how does one find it?

Bradberry is likely to command 13+ M per year in average salary.

You need to read up.

There are 16 CBs in the league exceeding $10M per year.

The Top 10 CBs in the league are making $13M +.

Bradberry, in my opinion, isn't a top 15, let alone a top 10 CB in this league. He may be the best on the team, but top 10 in the league? It's all relative.

Why is everyone so eager to give Bradberry big money

He's a mediocre corner and has done nothing to prove himself

He has a 60.5 rating from PFF, and is graded as mediocre by other experts

That said, I wouldn't have paid Shaq big money either.

Might be why Shaq was resigned first, Braberry likely wants 16 plus and we probably don't want to exceed 14/15 for him

I get a vague sense that you have negative feelings about McDaniels

It's not all relative, James will be paid like a top 6-7 CB when it's all said and done.

You are 100% wrong on this one.

If Bradberry were a cornerback for another team in the NFL, and playing at the same mediocre level, would be eager to steal him away with a big contract?

Would there be any interest in even giving him 6 million a year, let alone 16 million dollars, if he played for the Vikings or Titans?

I don't understand the mentality that you should pay your own players double or triple what they're worth, simply because you've become attached to them from draft night on.
