At this point it seems like Grier is going to be a wasted pick. He's OLDER than Kyle Allen, yet they're still refusing to throw him into the fire. If he doesn't know how to play QB at this point, he's never going to. There's really no reason not to put him in (unless he's looked horrible in practice and they know what's going to happen).

I mean, even if Grier DOES look decent, I don't think that's going to stop them from drafting a QB if a good one falls to them.

Lol a “wasted pick” before his rookie year is even up...Come on man. Why do people act like it’s insane to sit a 3rd round QB so that he can develop, and not get killed behind our line?

Because right now our 2nd and 2 3rds have been all but useless this year with such a deep interior line draft. We had so many needs that drafting a project QB shouldnt have been a priority.

Yeah but now that we have spent a 3rd round pick on him, wouldn’t you want him to develop and be the best backup possible? If the coaches want to develop him for the year and allow him to be in the best position to succeed, why be mad at that? No one knew Allen would turn into backup material, so that’s what they had in mind when they drafted Grier. No one expected him to play this year, and our season is over...no reason to hurt his development just because some Huddlers want to see him fail and complain about Hurney some more.

Man that Grier pick really chaps my ass. So many other needs and we reach for a QB who everyone knew wasn’t ready to see the field. Grier probably would have been available in round 6.

Well if he turns out to be great I mean it won't. Still it won't be Scott Turner coaching him.

It's not that we drafted him. It's that everyone knew when he was going to be drafted weeks before the draft. Hurney had locked eyes on him and was taking him no matter what. I'm not complaining we took a backup and that he shouldn't have time to develop. What worries me is that our 3rd round pick couldn't beat out an UDFA. It's the NFL, you don't always get time to develop a project. Granted it's a busted season, so there isn't really a high priority now to get him game time, but sometimes guys do better in a game than in practice. Neither here nor there really at this point.

I had big concerns about Paradis and DWill prior to the draft coming off major injury. Big men with leg injuries and they are rarely like new. GVR was always just a JAG, and Turner hasn't played up to his contract. Moton was really the only guy I had any confidence in going into the draft. It just seems like all the worries I had on draft day have come to fruition. I guess I'm more upset that we placed all our chips on 2 guys coming off leg injuries and it turned into a complete catastrophe.
