Opinions on Scott Turner's playcalling today?

he took the ball out of Kyle's hands and put it in our playmakers, he believes in curtis samuel. I like him tbh, would not be mad at all if we could somehow hire Stefanski and keep Scott as our OC with norv as an advisor.

I mean he's working with pure poo at QB there's only so much he can do

What was everyone else's opinion on Scott Turner's playcalling? I thought he did a pretty good job with it and utilized Samuel the way I want him to with more runs, seeing as how he is not a very good wide receiver. There is only so much you can do with the league's worst oline (as far as I'm concerned).

I like Scott's play calling alot better then norvs especially in the redzone, just need the qb to execute and Samuels problems are noodle arm. They dont even hardly try to throw deep anymore lol....he cought all his catchable balls I saw.

Killed three drives, but got us to a score on four.

He's perplexing. He has these terrible unwise moments (and there are tipped balls that cause issue, too) but the guy can also march the team 86 yards down the field for a touchdown in less than two minutes. (And he's done that last minute march multiple times this year.)

I'd really like to see him play with good protection, but that's not going to happen again this season.

Kyle's serviceable if his primary read is open but otherwise anything goes.

I can't argue that, but we also have to temper our opinions a bit based on experience. Can he get better? I think so, but he's playing the most difficult position in possibly the most complex and violent sport in the world.

We have to remember that he's basically a rookie, with limited college experience, playing for a beat up team who fired their coach. The defense isn't giving him much help (with either turnovers, field position or just limiting the scoring of the other team), also.

This is a win now or else league, though. Just hate that the kid might get thrown under the bus and let go rather than retained and developed. A bit more seasoning on the bench behind a starting quality QB and a good QB coach and he could be a decent starter. New regimes and undrafted players don't mix well, though, so we may see him spun out and into the league. That move might come back to haunt us.

In a perfect world, Cam would come roaring back for next season, healed, recharged and rejuvenated with Kyle Allen retained as a capable back up. I just can't put any money on those things happening.

He adjusted. Pretty fuging unheard of over here. Had grier started we win

What in the world has Will Grier shown you that makes you think he is ready right now to come in and lead an NFL offense?  The coaches see him everyday in practice and they obviously feel he is nowhere near ready.

Seattle was clearly playing soft zone on that one drive where DJ had two big pickups.  I would hope any pro QB could take advantage of that.

I thought he adjusted well after the first drive, unlike many OCs we've had here that wait until the end of the game to change up their approach - if ever.

He's certainly a creative breath of fresh air and already knows how to use the weapons around him. I'd love to see him with Cam and this crew next season - and a more experienced offensive line.

The things is it's all relative. Being a quarterback is hard sure, but as a professional you have to compare to him to his peers. Most guys at this level don't get the benefit of being eased into it. And if Kyle needs that in order to get good, how good is he really?

What worries me is that I don't really see raw talent there. A lot of guys coming out of college aren't NFL ready immediately either but you get glimpse of what they can be with some polish. I'm rarely if ever impressed by Kyle's mechanics or reads. I thought his strength was his poise and composure but his frequent turnovers have killed that. Kyle looks like a textbook JAG and this team isn't good enough to win with one at QB.

I'm listening to the Fewell interview right now and that bit really jumped out. If this season has taught me anything, it's that a non-committal answer like that means, "This week's starter is definitely not the starter next week."

    • Let it all out bro.   At the end of the day Charlotte fans just aren't that passionate as other fans. The Panthers and Hornets crowds are wack.    Go to a Canes game and you will understand this. Tell the family I said hi and Happy Father's Day.
    • Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Best place to live?  LMAO... that's your criteria...  Charlotte gets put all over those lists too... come on man... and those lists have zero to do with sports. I'm done after this bc I'm punching down intellectually here... The Panthers have been bad for 6 years now. You are obviously young and not overly educated based off the "dunks" you're putting out there that certainly are, so let me educate you today on the Panthers. The Panthers sold out for well over a decade straight. BOA has been as good an environment as there is when the team is good.  Fan support for the Panthers has been incredible when the team has even remotely reciprocated. The idea that Charlotte doesn't support the Panthers is utter BS. People in Raleigh have the biggest little brother syndrome of all time... Nobody outside of the Triangle cares about any of your "vaunted" sports team outside of Duke-UNC in basketball on a national scale. Sure, the Canes are great. But nationally, the WWE dwarfs the NHL in ratings. More people care about Cody Rhodes than Sebastian Aho... or anyone else in the NHL for that matter... I doubt less than 5% of anyone in this state outside of Raleigh even knows who that is... that's a knock on Aho who is a great player, it's just the NHL barely makes a ripple in the overall hierarchy of American sports. It's not in the same universe as the NFL or NBA no matter how badly you want to tell yourself otherwise. Raleigh is not a big-time sports city, no matter how much you want to scream into the abyss about it. Neither is Charlotte. But no one here is making such a nonsense argument... LOL it's good to be young and to be ignorant enough to be confidently wrong... WTF are you even on this board though since Charlotte is so beneath you? There is an actual discussion board on this very site for Raleigh sports since they are so superior...  Maybe it's bc I'm watching Idiocracy with my son, but your timing is perfect, my man... The dumbest among us have become the most confidence in their ignorance... God Bless America!!
    • You do know the biggest military base in the US is located just an hour from Raleigh in Fort Bragg right? Military families are family oriented. A hour drive to games is nothing compared to traveling 3 hours to Charlotte.   Cmon man there is nothing happening in Western Carolina other than Charlotte. I only go west for outdoor activities and some nature/mountain views.
