He pretty much low key called out most of the roster. He basically said that there was a handful of players giving their all and really doing good work specifically mentioning Luke, CMC, and DJ Moore but there just wasn't enough of those guys left healthy. Pretty much confirmed to me we made the right decision moving on. Sounds like he had lost the ears of the players if not their respect and was probably ready to move on himself.

He said he thinks the Cam decision will come down 100% to health. All he talked about was the foot. Hardly mentioned the shoulder at all other than saying Cam has said it felt great. He also said he wouldn't bet against Cam.

Definitely confirms he's coaching again. Looking for a team with a good young core and definitely sounds like he wants more input on the roster than what he had in Carolina, possibly even GM duties as well.

He picked Baltimore without hesitation to win the SB. He refused to pick an NFC team as SB representative, but specifically mentioned the Niners, Saints, and Packers.

I don't want to hear anything else that comes out of that clown's mouth, so thanks for paraphrasing. I never understood how Rivera got the title of "Player's Coach" when he continuously threw players under the bus and never took any responsibility. He thinks too highly of himself to be such a mediocre coach. He's looking for a young core because he needs them to carry his ass. RIP to any team that gives him GM duties. There would be 40+ veterans everywhere and their QB would only last 2 games.

dallas makes the most sense if he gets hired again, which isn't a guarantee.  ron will say anything, and throw anyone under the bus to keep his job.  its all he really seemed concerned with.  i think that will fit just right with jerruh.  ron can be his lap dog and jerruh can go on the radio all the time and speak after games, and they can continuously tell eachother how they're the best there is and blame it on players.

Was that a callout of the players or the guy who supplied them?

It's funny to see Rivera talking about wanting more power. Kinda feels like the guy who got fired from the mail room telling his next potential employer he deserves to be a regional manager.

Neither.  Just some people trying to read something into it that wasn't there.

Look at Ditka to what is instore for Ron. It's the first layer of his foundation as a coach. If he gets personel control, Ricky Willaims 2.0 incoming. The never accepting his faults will blow up in his face like a nuke.

If any team in this league is dumb enough to put Ron Rivera in charge of developing a group of young players AND lets him make personnel decisions, they deserve every bad thing that will absolutely happen.  It's amazing how self unaware this guy is.  Getting rid of him was the best thing this franchise could have possibly done, but it came several years too late.

the only thing better would have been not ever hiring the fugging idiot in the first place.

Disagree. His statements about how he needed more power over roster decisions make clear he thinks he was right and someone else was wrong.

Rivera has rarely been one to say "it's my fault".

"ah ah aha ah ah ah ah ah aaaaaahh" (In Rivera tone)

He took blame sir. It only took 9 years to do so but he did.

IMO, he was nothing but professional in the interview.  I think we as fans tend to read what we want to read or what we already believe to be true into these statements, not what is actually said.

Ron always sounds very professional, but in his post firing interviews he's thrown in a subtle barb or two while also pumping himself up. Granted, that's human nature.

I honestly think most of Ron's verbal jabs have been directed at David Tepper, but I don't think LG is off base in his read.
