The press release announcing Tom Coughlin's firing sure makes it sound like GM Caldwell and Marrone are next to go.

Are they trying to get in the HC race like us as well? 

 

At least we don't have as much Turnover as the Jags. That's the one thing, although it could be looked at as a negative as well, seeing as we don't  know when to move on and drag things on for seasons.

Coughlin tried his tough guy/outdated practices and it's gonna cost him. 

He's had a rift with every player of note the jaguars had and he's given out a few contracts that have already turned south(Norwell and Foles)

David Caldwell is the GM. Did he give the contracts or Caughlin? How does that situation work?

Coughlin's style probably works a lot better in New York. It worked in his initial stint in Jacksonville when they were new, but things have changed.

Seeing how things are happening with him now makes me gun shy about hiring a guy like Jim Harbaugh.

I just think Harbaugh's whole act wears thin on grown ass men in short order. His personality is better suited to the college game IMO where it's kids and they're in and out of there in 3-5 years.

Coughlin has generally been a pretty good talent evaluator but I doubt you'd get him without giving him full control.

This. It ALWAYS runs out man. Regardless of where Harbaugh goes.

Now being reported that Dave Caldwell and Doug Marrone are safe. The only person being fired is Coughlin. And apparently Coughlin was gonna retire at the end of the season anyway.

Gonna hurt next season, and a little the next after that, but they can cut him after next season.
