And is his use of the word fug supposed to show his toughness? What is this, 5th grade?

But but but he used it ten times. That's gotta speak to how tough this bastard is. Wonder if he'd said it eleven times, we'd definitely be perennial Superb Owl champs right now.

It’s mostly from gettleman fanboys who are still salty he got fired.

The biggest reason for me is him continuously throwing players under the bus and the closest he ever got to taking any responsibility is him saying "I feel like I am responsible". Now he's pounding his chest like he's some tough, great mind of a coach when really he's actually a clown that no organization in the league fears.

Also from Rapoport (link)

Former Panthers coach Ron Rivera has emerged as a top coaching candidate, and he has told people close to him that he expects a deal to come together quickly. It may even be in the next 48 hours. The Redskins are among the teams with real and legitimate interest, but other teams without openings yet are circling. The Giants, if they keep GM Dave Gettleman, figure to be among those interested.

Rivera is a great coach he's just a defensive Head Coach

Rivera's defenses:

Points surrendered

2011 - 27th

2012 - 18th

2013 - 2nd

2014 - 21st

2015 - 6th

2016 - 26th

2017 - 11th

2018 - 19th

2019 - 31st

Avg. - 18th

Yards surrendered

2011 - 28th

2012 - 10th

2013 - 2nd

2014 - 10th

2015 - 6th

2016 - 21st

2017 - 7th

2018 - 15th

2019 - 23rd

Avg. - 14th

Not a very admirable record for a "defensive Head Coach".

After almost a decade he didn't really change anything long-term.  We still have a overall losing team record, Rivera didn't win a Super Bowl, didn't get back to back winning seasons. He caught lightning in a bottle in 2013 and 2015 and beyond that never amounted to much.

Lol he changed the culture? Dude was just a continuation of John fox.

I mean he'd grow a set for a week or so, but it was always way too late and then he'd go back to his little paddleboat.

Good riddance and good luck (to whoever hires him).

Actually he was worse than Fox. Atleast Fox's team played defense.

I see in him a perennial middling coach for whichever team is blind enough to hire him. Nine years is enough of a sample size to determine that if he has any personnel or staff input the only direction is a slow downward spiral into mediocrity.
