Hopped on over to a RS forum to see what they were saying about Ron. Pretty realistic bunch. Poor guys just want one winning season. Here is my favorite post.

I'm not enthused by this pick.  The Panthers were pretty middling when he was there.  That Super Bowl run makes him seem better than he is.  I'm more influenced by the underwhelming 3 winning seasons out of 9 part.  Hell, Norv had as many winning seasons here in less time

I give Ronny 4 years.

2020- 8-9 wins and a possible wild card.

2021- The peak of the Rivera era.  We win 11-12 and go on a deep playoff run, at least NFC championship game appearance.

2022- 7-9, disappointing year.  Dan Snyder interferes heavily in the 2023 offseason.

2023- 5-11.  The Rivera era comes to it's natural conclusion. Dan fires everyone and starts over again.

I think they’re even being overly optimistic about even making the playoffs with Ron as head coach.

I don't believe all of these analysts and pundits realize just how many times Cam had to drag Ron across the finish line in multiple games. You can tell they've hardly watched any Panthers games from all the praise Ron has been getting.

You make it sound like a lot of us haven't been tired of him for a long time and are glad he's gone. I was only bitter while he was here the last few years. No bitterness now.

What I don't get is the vitriol, and all the complainers around here got their way. Who dumps a good guy and then dumps all over him?

Washington does have the 2nd pick again. They will get a quarterback. It may be Tua if it’s for Rivera and they recreate the Cam magic.

It’s a weak division and Ron could do well there. He does well against weak teams, and gets outmanoeuvred against next level coaching.

I remember when Cam dragged us to within a few plays of beating NO in the playoffs with a one armed Devin Funchess as his number one, that was strangely tragic

Ron would bring "discipline" or whatever to Dwayne Haskins and their locker room but they won't go anywhere, he's a fixer upper coach. They'll look more competent but i doubt he puts together good rosters consistently with Snyder in the mix
