I love Cam but damn people act like he is the only person that will EVER play quarterback for the Carolina Panthers.

It’s not that. It’s just so hard to find a game changing qb. The league has changed. You absolutely need an elite qb to win the super bowl. It is very possible we get stuck in qb purgatory for a decade.

I read some stat, can remember where, but it listed every super bowl winning coach and team.  Outside the Pats, most teams win a super bowl when a new coach comes within 5 years.  If they don't win a super bowl within 5 years of a new coach, chances are they won't.  Again, this excluded the Pats.  I say the no, the true panther way, they get close but come up short again.

I see your point, but I would not call Nick Foles an elite QB. For a few seasons, he was exactly what the Eagles needed to fit with the other pieces they had. We should be able to find a Nick Foles, or maybe we get lucky and get a Mahommes (was the 10th pick). You just never know.

Nick Foles was absolutely elite in the playoffs and the few games before. that is really an anomaly for a backup to come in and do that but he did.

Hmmmmm.   I will give that some thought.  The only SB that I can think of, won by non elite quarterback,  was Nick Foles.  Eagles backup quarterback win.

Btw, that win tells me that you need to have the right quarterback in the right circumstances.   Look what happened to Jacksonville this season.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
