Who knows.

But there are TONS of NFL writers, Media, former players, scouts, etc the list goes on.  Who are glowing about this.

If you believe all these people are wrong but some huddlers on here are right.  You need to pull your head out of the sand.

LOL

I would say, 98% of the national media commenting, know nothing about Matt Rhule. It's just Group Speak. And the ones who heard questions or negativity concerning his hire. They have no desire/reason to elucidate this to the public out of politeness, and/or not being worth it since they don't have an emotional stake In It either way.

Yep they know nothing

Thats why half of them have articles they wrote linked or another Article pointing out things on Rhule linked.

Vs Huddlers who have maybe watched 1 half of a Baylor Football game and never heard nor read the dudes name until we mentioned we were interviewing him.

Just so you know: I'm not saying the guy's a good or bad pick. I'll wait and see.

But I'm telling you. Most of these guys know nothing about him, outside of an article or two a few of them may have written (which is from a distance via what other people say, and probably for another team). And so many others, are just shooting from the lip, cause they're not paid to say nothing, and usually don't.

More importantly: He can be all the great things that many that like him profess, and he can still fail. Coaching an NFL team takes a rare mix, that's not always translatable from NFL Coordinator to HC, or College HC to NFL Head coach. We'll see, and I wish him well!!??

Went back and listened to the whole thing

"I think he's a great leader, a great motivator, reminds me of John Harbaugh quiet a bit. He understands how to build, a great teacher and motivator.
He's the only FBS coach that sit down with scouts every time when they come to visit."

He told a story when they were 8-0, and they had a bye week with West Virginia coming up next. He went to waco to visit the program. When he got there, they were 8-0. He walked in the build and there were 100's among 100's of beat west Virginia go 1-0 sheets plastered to the walls
"He lives it breathes it, is hard nosed. When you turn on the tape, his players effort jumps off the screen."

His first visit to Baylor, Rhule came to the scouts giving a care package. Asking them what they need from them (Baylor).

If i asked other scouts about Rhule, would they say the same.
"Ask any other Scout thats dealt with him, about the best coaches theyve ever worked with, and I guaranteed his name will be mentioned."

Yeah

Now that, that happened

While many football and NFL experts talk it up as a homerun etc.

But some huddle experts say he bad, he a college coach etc so he must be terrible

How dare we hire him over a coordinator who has never playcalled

Or How dare they hire him over a Harvard grad who some in the fan base want ua to take him away from them.

Huddlers>NFL Writers, Scouts, and experts

He also said something positive once about our 3rd string quarterback.  OH MER GAWD!

One thing is certain, no matter WHO the Panthers had chosen as their coach, a significant portion of fans were going to b*tch about it.  I wasn't sold on Rhule either, but hell with it, it's a new era and I'm excited.  Let's see what happens, you bickering little children.

you had me until 'bickering little children'.  you and i friend, we are 2 of those

There is one major reason I am sold on Rhule compared to other college coaches.

Reliance on recruiting.

The reason I am not a fan of college coaches going to the NFL is because of how much of a successful college coach is based on recruiting, winning with elite talent against non elite teams.  This is not Rhule.

Rhule's college HCing career, imho, is marked by two specific attributes when it comes to the players.  He either takes what he has, and develops it.  Or he finds underappreciated athleticism, recruits that (because he knows he won't get the elite talent due to being at Temple or post-scandal Baylor) and develops that.

That is different than a..say Lincoln Riley or Saban that gets loads of 5 star talent every year.

When I look at our rookies lately, there has been a development issue.  This could be for a variety of reasons.  The coach not sufficiently able to develop.  Having an irrational loyalty to veterans and not giving rookies the game experience to grow, etc.  Just drafting the wrong guys.  Whatever.  The result is the same.

We are hitting a vacuum in our development stage.  We have the core.  We occasionally get someone that flourishes.  But our lack of drafting/developing is creating too many holes for us to fill in free agency.  This causes a domino effect of having to take risks in free agency we may not have originally had to..due to having so many holes (Paradis, for example, even if I think he can still be sufficiently salvaged).
