SPEAK FOR YOURSELF TAKE - Does Rhule want Cam?

Hey guys, new poster to the huddle but I've been a long time follower. I came across this piece and I think they talk about a lot of our concerns if Rhule can win a locker room or if he is even qualified to coach in the NFL. First piece is James Harrison bashing Rhule and saying that he's not proven, probably what a lot of our veteran leaders on the team or even panthers fans are thinking. Lavar Arrington actually played with Rhule at Penn State and makes some very valid points (starts about 3:16) about why Cam needs to buy into Rhule to regain his dominance. Great perspectives from former players, should watch in its entirety.

personally I understand both arguments, but if your goal is to change the culture then it most likely starts with the man you build that culture around.  Cam is more than likely pretty set in his ways and the team will continue to follow him and not Rhule.  I think Cam will almost have to be removed in order to install any kind of new culture etc.

No idea, but two things...

Jourdan Rodrigue has stated that while they'll ask his opinion, the Newton decision will still be made by Tepper and Hurney.

Also, he was asked in a radio interview how much he knew about our personnel. Rhule said he didn't know anything but he was going to get to work on getting to know the players.

If you can't see these two guys working out well your blind. Rhule is a manager of people, and while Cam has a large personality I see both Cam and Rhule pushing other teammates to greatness. *Cough* Donte Jackson *Cough* Curtis Samuel.

I think you guys have all made some pretty good points. I think Rhule has a lot to prove to the veterans in the locker room as James Harrison points out, if he is smart then he would make sure Cam buys into his program so that others will follow suit. Cam is loved and well supported by guys in the locker room, I think that's how you gain credibility among the players ASAP.

I think cam is in good shape with this hire for the near future, ive discussed with my friends a possible rebuild and the routes taken don’t make sense for the talent currently on the roster.

that and we won’t be in the pickings for a top 5 pick with this roster unless we just purposely tank which has proven to be worthless.

only other option is selling the farm for a move up to pick a qb and making big moves in fa

There are many players who were with the Giants when Rhule coached there that are on the record squarely in support of him.

Julian Council went on the radio today and made a bunch of dumb comments that parroted Harrison on the "prove it" front...

...guys making these sorts of comments haven't done their homework.

Look man, all I see is a win win situation for this organization.

If they decide to keep Cam, that will mean two things. Cam is coming back Healthy and they will FINALLY build properly around him. Rhule will make him better.

If they decide to deal Cam away that means they are starting fresh and possibly getting a nice return for him which will be used properly for the rebuild. Either way the future looks good.

Cam doesn't set the culture, he marches to his own drum. And the culture that Rivera set was for players to be themselves. Hence why Cam could be Cam. They aren't going to follow him instead of the coach. Cam wants to win as much as anyone and will gladly follow anyone he thinks can help him return to on top.  Cam is surely quirky at times but he is a team player and will likely welcome Rhule and follow him.

Personality of the coach, no biggie, personality of Cam, no biggie, culture, no biggie

Cams health will be the deciding factor and you had better know he was talked about a lot during the interviews.  Cams future here is already set, we just don't know what it looks like at this point
