Big Ben is out for the season and no one bats an eye. Andrew luck misses an entire season due to injury and no one question his starting position or job security. Cam newton goes on IR for the first time in his career and suddenly he needs to be traded.

What is wrong with you people? Cam has brought so many good memories to this franchise and one injury completely unrelated to his shoulder which is fully healed btw has everyone shipping him out of Carolina. Franchise quarterbacks don’t grow on trees. No one in this damn draft is a sure thing. When you have a guy that is a proven winner you keep him. This negativity towards Superman is sickening and needs to stop. When cam starts the 2020 season with his Walter Peyton man of the year patch ready to win comeback player of the year. I hope all the people that wanted him gone remember what he brings to this franchise. Here’s to hopefully future 2 time MVP cam. Keep pounding.

I agree with this

When Luck was injured, Matt Hasselbeck actually came in and outperformed him (2015).  He won a few games, but no one was calling for him to replace Luck.   Was a much different story when Kyle Allen had his little hot streak (despite the revisionist history after he proved to be terrible).

A lot of Panthers fans were/are awfully ready to discard Newton, despite the fact he had a far superior career compared to Luck.  Colts fans were completely united in waiting as long as they needed for Luck to rehab.

The irony is if Cam sat out after the Pittsburgh game (shoulder injury) it changes the narrative.

Cam Newton is exactly why Luck retired. In his own words he said he cant play average and still be in the NFL. Cam playing through injuries/overall play dropping has dropped Cam's stock to people.

Unless Rhule is a true HC savior for Cam...

People will think about the years wasted.

2) Running QB's don't have long careers

It looks like a nice calculated time to move on from him.

Cam was a better pocket passer than Andrew Luck, despite common misconceptions

Andrew Luck had a 60.8% career completion percentage despite having far superior OLines and wide outs.

If Cam plays NFL football in 2020 he will do so for the Carolina Football Panthers.

I get a good chuckle out of the "Walter Payton Award"....

....the guy was one helluva football player....

....and a complete degenerate off the field.

Luck had some of the worst OLines in NFL history. Why do you think he was injured all the time?

cam, aside from 2015 (minus remmers) hasn't had the best either, but his injuries had more to do with him mowing down linebackers and dlinemen and the NFL allowing people to head hunt him without repercussions

Cam has been injured for multiple seasons now.  Whether or not he has been IR'd for a full season or not, he has had multiple surgeries and hasn't finished  season uninjured in a long time.

But when he's all good, Cam is incredible.  Most of us know that and want him here.  Hell, so does our owner.  But like our owner, we want to see Cam healthy.  And given Cam is entering the final year of the contract, it all comes down to what Cam will play for etc.

Only idiots would want a healthy Cam gone.

    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
    • OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
