BREAKING NEWS: David Tepper speaks on Cam Newton status with Panthers

Does not sound like someone putting the message out that Cam will be the leader of the team next year. I don’t understand the vibes they are putting out on Cam. Why wouldn’t you at least fake it to help trade value. What the benefit of being so bleak?

Teams spend a ton of money on medical staff and some very qualified physicians will be performing his physical. I doubt any trade suitors are even paying attention to what Tepper tells David Newton.

Of course that’s what he said.  Cam’s not gone unless his health doesn’t check out and those that have been salivating at the mouth to get a good ol boy at QB will try to extrapolate more from Teppers comments than that, but that’s all it is.

Understand that for most, race is not the issue.  It has something to do with being injured for about half his current contract after 8 years of being hammered more than any other QB in league history.  I am upset they never build a solid OL around him--but that is not my cross to bear as a ticket holder.  Gettlemen drafted Moton, Williams, and signed Kalil.  2 sucked, but at least he tried.  Marty?  SInce Cam was drafted:

2011:

  • 6th : Zach Williams
  • 7th: Lee Ziemba

2013:

  • 4th: Edmund Kugbila

2014:

  • 3rd Trai Turner

2015: (Gettlemen)

  • 4th:  Daryl Williams

2017: (Gettlemen)

  • 2nd: Taylor Moton

_____________Cam Injured ____________

2019:

  • 2nd: Greg Little
  • 5th: Dennis Daley

Is that how you support a franchise QB?  We drafted offensive linemen:

  • First Round:  0
  • Second Round: 3 (Amini Silatolu, Taylor Moton, Greg Little)
  • Third Round: 1 (Trai Turner)
  • Fourth Round: 2 (Edmund Kugbila, Daryl Williams)
  • Fifth Round: 1 (Dennis Daley)
  • Sixth Round: 1 (Zach Williams)
  • Seventh Round: 1 (Lee Ziemba)

Cam never had a chance--how do you only draft 4 OL in NINE YEARS on day 1 or 2 of the draft (rounds 1-3)? That is 4 of 25 1-3 round picks went to the OL after drafting a franchise QB.   And one of those four is Silatolu?

Taylor Moton was Gettlemen's pick.  Marty?  grabbed a third round G (Turner).

For those who haven’t watched the video, need to go back and watch how coy he is and how tries to dodge the commitment to Cam.

When can you remember a team not committing publicly to there Quarterback? There’s nothing wrong with saying, we stand 100% behind Cam and can’t wait for him to get healthy again. Unless of course if you are planning on moving on from him.

The healthy part to me, seems to be that they can’t trade or attempt to trade him until he’s healthy. But this seems pretty clear they are prepared to move on from him.

Right--analyze what he does not say, not what he says.

    • And don’t worry about Bryce he will be great… Peyton Manning had a horrible rookie year too 😂
    • Nothing wrong with it at all until you start telling others they are bad fans or not fans. But you are the good fan because you never say negative stuff about the team.    I did many years of that type of uninformed fanning because there really was no info and coverage like there is with the internet.    I mean, I used to go to the store and get Street and Smith’s annual football issue. That was about the extent of what you could get if you didn’t live in a big city with sportswriters covering and reporting.  There was no video to look at or replay the games and if you didn’t live in the market you could only rarely see your football team play.    TI have fanned since being a kid in the early 1960s, and as late as 1995 - ‘97 I lived in Atlanta and good luck getting more than 3 or 4 games a year on TV. No radio either. No print coverage outside of an AP recap and box unless they played Atlanta.  People today that have always had the network connection don’t know.    I wasn’t very educated about the Panthers until I finally got internet.
    • oh now that's what you call Mother Fiuggure fans the ones that always have this fierce protective shield around the team no matter if they win or lose  & to be honest there is nothing really wrong with being a Mother Fiugguer fan they just have a different meaning or sense of what a true fan really is                                                 ☺️
