Hurney has no business "scouting" anyone. Good lord.

Hurney, listen to your pro scouts. You ain't one. Do not go with your gut.

And your coaches.  Every system requires players with certain skill sets.  The coaches give the scouts their shopping list and the scouts go find them.  All Marty has to do is listen--but his gut---it is a force.

"What about that guy in section 522?  In the  fifth row, wearing the cowboy hat.  He looks like a left tackle."

Remember that QB he picked up from the dolphins he was in love with despite the scouts telling him he was horrible? He lasted what, 4 days before the coaches cut him?

Of all the valid criticisms taking a chance on Kaaya is pretty weak one.

It was a month plus and he was immediately picked up and given a look at by consecutive teams the next 2 years

All of the other criticism are so well known and publicized, its good to go into detail on some of the overlooked ones to see how terrible Hurney truly is.0

Hurney visited dude himself, smh. You can bet Hurney is chomping at the bit to use our early 2nd on this guy.

He could be a stud, but I honestly would rather Hurney not even go down this road.

Yep and Hurney telegraphs his love for all to see. Who didn’t know that we were picking Grier and Little last year? We probably could have gotten Grier in the 5th and Little is very likely there at 47. I was not a fan of Little at all but taking him at 47 and at least having pick 77 would have made it not so bad.

I think other GMs just have to start a whisper and Hurney will jump through hoops to reach for a guy. We had McCoy, Crosby and Evans all in for private visits and they fit needs as well. We reached on Little and Grier and could have easily had the other 3 and had a stellar draft. Instead we had one of the worst.

Grier was easily the worst kept secret in the draft last year. Even Burrow to Cinci is less of a certainty than Grier to Carolina.
