"This organization see's Moore as a #2 WR"

Damn people shitting on DJ again already.

Considering what he had to work with, and how his quarterback was turning the ball over at a high rate later in the season, it's pretty damn impressive he coasted to 1,100 yards. He's only 22 years old. Give him some consistency at quarterback this year, and let him go to work.

Potential potential potential

It’s always “if” with these guys.

He was top 7 in receiving yards per game with who at QB? It’s not just potential. He’s already an absolute stud. And he still has even more potential to be better.

Does anyone think Robby Anderson is a real target this offseason or is that a pipe dream?

Pipe dream. I really think philly will go after him hard. They are bringing back none of their WRs. They have been hurt by a lack of speed. He is their guy. I don’t see us being able to outbid anyone knowing that we have so many other vacancies or weaknesses.

A true #1 WR is a luxury. Of the 12 playoff teams, At least half of them didn’t have a true #1 WR. I would be elated if we could roster another guy about as good as moore. We don’t Necessarily need a Deondre Hopkins type to win. I mean, we went to the Super Bowl with Greg Olsen and  this pile of poo:

Dude was a top 10 NFL WR with Kyle Allen throwing him the ball. If the Panthers' organization feels he's "only" a #2 then it seems as if the Panthers' organization agrees with the Huddle's opinion that the only viable "#1 WRs" are mythological beasts the who consumes his opponents with fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse.

I mean, he was great but it’s not a far-fetched take to think that right now he is borderline 1/2 receiver. His intangibles are ridiculous especially his center of gravity, balance and YAC/tackle breaking ability. But he definitely has work to do as a route runner if he wants to be considered a top tier wideout. I’d say he’s comfortably in the 2nd tier. Whether that’s a #1 or #2 I don’t know and I don’t think it matters. He can still become a top tier guy if he masters the route running aspect of it.

edit: I’ll add, to clarify, that I’m 100% comfortable with Moore as our best WR. If we still decide to draft another guy like Jeudy or something and have an elite pair, then great. But if not I don’t see any pressing need to add a WR to be a “#1.” A bigger possession guy for third downs and red zone, yes. But no need to spend big (money or draft pick) on someone to be the “#1.”

a few of us have quietly maintained this thought about Moore. he's fantastic but his skill set is suited perfectly for a #2 or imo lined up in the slot. Juedy and Samuel on the outside with Moore in the slot and CMC at HB with Cam Newton under center, that's the best offense in the league. maybe the best Panthers offense of all time tbqh

huh?? he had a thousand yard season!! He produced!! the team didn't!! He could use some help sure! Smitty is salty and just talks crap!

being the #2 wide receiver in a good offense is not about being "worse" than the #1, it's about where you line up on the field and the kind of routes you're running. lining up Moore across from a #1 WR who is a little taller but equally dynamic doesn't make him inferior, it makes them both super good

dj moore went for 1,200  yards with the worst starting qb in the league (sans maybe trubisky), at the age of 22. he is as old as a good portion of the prospects coming out of the draft this year and already has a 1,000 yard receiving season to his name in the NFL with horrible qb play. regarding him not scoring, our offense didnt do much scoring in general the last few weeks, but in that case, find a big body redzone threat and a solid te (or hope thomas develops). jumping to a conclusion on him being #1 when he's still extremely young, and the only qb play he's had throughout his career is the corpse of cam newton and a backup is simply premature. the eagles won a sb without a #1 wr, all you need is a well rounded unit.

drafting jerry jeudy #7 at one of the only positions which we are solid (or well, atleast have SOMETHING at) would be a colossal mistake. keep in mind, curtis samuel had an ungodly amount of deep tds over or underthrown to him. he got missed so many damn times down the field due to qb play. we should atleast see how this upcoming season with cam treats them, and if dj regresses, or samuel's stats don't go up, then we should look to address the position. who's to say that samuel can't be our #2? maybe take a wr later, at earliest in the 2nd with mims (since he was a redzone threat in college, something we definitely need on this offense), but even then there are so many holes on this team that could be addressed, and in a wr class this deep, i'd take one later.  the only three players that should even be in consideration for us at 7 are thomas, brown and simmons.

what!!?? not sure I follow what you are saying!! Moore fought with a lot of poor throws and did well!! U can have a great receiver but need a QB to get it to u!.. Moore didn't have that!! So if Cam has is as good as he supposed to be then Moore will double that this year!

    • They traded away their 1st next year also to get James Pearce Jr. Really hope this blows up in the Falcons face. I don't care how it happens, I just want to win the division this year. Zero sympathy for other team's issues. And our pass rush looks like it needs all the help it can get.
    • I would have released him this season, tbh and worked with Christensen out there.
    • 10/10. We're due for some good luck, and I think this team is much better than what we've had the last 2 seasons. Defensive injuries could derail us b/c our depth there is still questionable. Still worried about the pass rush getting pressure without blitzing. Pleasantly surprised by the secondary and run defense.  Dan Morgan has done a lot to resurrect this roster from the deplorable position Fitterer left it in by showing some scouting chops with hitting on these guys drafted in the later rounds or UDFAs. Lathan Ransom & Corey Thornton both look like they fit this scheme and the NFL isn't too big for them.  I'm as excited for the rookie trifecta of T-Mac, Scourton, and Princely as I can remember. On paper, this offense is the most talented since 2021, maybe 2017, and maybe 2015. None of that means this team will produce any better, but this team has offensive talent & depth like we have rarely had in team history. If you don't believe me, go Google it. We've had some awful offensive collections overall in many years, to varying degrees mitigated by superstar talents like Steve Smith, Christian Mccaffrey, or Cam Newton.  I honestly think the collective offensive talent in 2025 may be better, but Cam was so otherworldly in 2015 & 2017 that he covered any flaws. Seriously, though, Cam doesnt get enough love for 2017. I think that may have been his best season. In general, Cam doesn't get enough respect IMHO. Both in college and in the NFL, Cam took teams that without him would have had no chance and won. True definition of a guy who elevated his team. To be clear, I am in no way am I saying this team will be better than 2017 or 2015. My point is that the offensive talent is there on offense if Bryce can unlock it.  I've been a Bryce supporter, but there are no excuses not to perform with this group. This isn't the disaster we gave him in 2023 or a new scheme like in 2024 where I think he hadn't mentally removed from his rookie season to start. I dont know how you couldnt be excited about that. And we still compete in a division that isn't insurmountable. I got got in 2023 like most of us in buying into the team propaganda, but in general, I think I'm pretty realistic about the team. I knew in my heart we would be bad last year. I wasnt expecting the defense to be that bad or Bryce to start off that poorly, but I had no expectations whatsoever for making the playoffs. And I genuinely think we will be competitive all year this season. I think we win 8-9 games and compete for the division. I think the ceiling is 11 wins, and the floor is 7. The good news is after next week, we will all be proven right or proven wrong. Keep Pounding!
