I'm getting the sense that Rhule and co. believe they can win sooner rather than later.

Whether they're right or not, we'll see.

That's what they want you to believe.  And they will use a lot a caveats along the way to reason away why they don't.  It's all part of the process.

Uhm, it's ALREADY been blown to hell.

What's funny, is they weren't even trying to be terrible, it just happens when Marty is in control of your football team.

People in here kept going haywire about the "tank" word....the front office wasn't even trying to tank, and yet here we are....what many of us are saying, is that if you are going to be bad, be bad, and be smart about it.

Dumb team.

I think the plan is still that our offense is set up to compete with what we have (we are realistically one solid G away from being in decent shape overall on offense) but the defense is going to be ROUGH.

I do not think that we are that close.

We have two holes at G, a hole at C, no pass catchers behind Curtis, Ian, and Moore, and two of those have yet to really shine....if we got hit with even a touch of the injury bug this year, our offense could be just as god awful as our defense.

What if Moore or CMC went down in training camp?

Good point. I do think we will stick with Paradis and that he will hopefully recover, Dailey May be a solid G being that he played at multiple spots last year, but you are right if we have injuries we are screwed

We are BLOWTOOLING.

Bingo! That's it right there.

I'll start by saying I absolutely love Cam and with billions in my pockets I would pay him just because of the awesomeness that he brings to the team. However, this organization has to start putting something worth watching on the field for the fans that is sustainable. Next to nothing is publicly known about Cam's health situation. There is more going on here than any of us know. It's not the organizations fault that Cam is chasing a contract instead of staying and proving he is healthy. Is business-minded/analytical Tepper supposed to gamble another year or our future on a QB who hasn't had success in 4 years? Does anyone really want to end up watching another Kyle Allen/Will Grier season? Does anyone feel that the team/staff that finished the 2019 season really had the passion or drive to win football games? FA isn't over and the draft hasn't even happened yet. I know there are a lot of holes and some of the signings/contracts don't make complete sense but all we can do is trust the process. Teddy B throwing to CMac, DJ and Samuel under Brady's system has a ton of upside. Hell it could be downright exciting if we can figure out the OL. Lets just be fans of the Carolina Panthers and see what happens over the next couple of seasons.

BLOWTOOLING!

    • I love this draft because they picked the right OL.  It is possible that we have 2 rookies starting on the OL.  I would take Utah's Lomu as well, but for those who think you find the OL in free agency and not the draft, here is all I have to say:  We cannot give $110m to the 5 starting OL.  We need an infusion of youth on the OL as well.  If Ickey returns and can play, I imagine that he takes over for Hunt at RG--in 2027 or so.  Currently, our 2 guards and right tackle make up over 20% of the total cap.  We have to add 2 starters, but if Cade Mays was too pricey at around (anticipated) $8m, then we plan to draft a C, it seems. I think we draft an OT and C now because we will need a G or 2 and a RT soon.  While they were good in 2026, they were not elite.  For that kind of $$, we need elite.  Is starting a rookie LT and C ideal?  Nope.  But if we can get better than Nijman and Mays, we should be OK. I think we will pick up an ILB in free agency and add an ILB.  Who we draft (Mike or Will) will depend on who we sign.  Rodriguez is a favorite of mine, but if Golday is there, Morgan is going to take him.  Morgan will love him. I do not think we need to overpopulate the edge position right now because we have 1 edge returning from injury (Jones II), one rookie from last year ready to step up and could be really good (Scourton), and another who could be ready to step into the situational pass rusher role (Princely).  2 hold the edge very well and if we had a situational pass rusher to join Princely, we could be much better. I think rookies at Edge tend to jump considerably from their rookie seasons to years 2 and 3.  (Charles Johnson, Mike Rucker, and Greg Hardy were that way-and all became very good in time. Safety seems omitted, but we shall see.  That could be another free agent acquisition.
    • Id like Evans from Duke in the draft as a shooter for the second unit. And probably a more athletic big to replace all, he's good but doesn't really fit the style. White, Evans, green, Williams and center tbd is a pretty good second unit
