Friday the Carolina Panthers Pharoh Cooper to a one-year contract.

A fourth-round draft pick of the Rams in 2016, Cooper earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in 2017 as a returner with 932 yards and a touchdown on 34 kickoff returns to go with 399 yards on 32 punt returns. His 103-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Jacksonville that season earned him NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Last season, Cooper played in 13 games – one with the Bengals and 12 with the Cardinals. He recorded a career-high 25 receptions for 243 yards and a touchdown. He also returned 25 kickoffs for 561 yards and 17 punts for 129 yards.

In his four-year NFL career, Cooper has played for the Rams (2016-18), Cardinals (2018, 2019) and Bengals (2019), seeing action in 46 games with five starts and one playoff appearance.

Cooper attended Havelock (N.C.) High School and played collegiately at South Carolina where he was a two-time All-SEC selection and ranked second in the conference in receiving yards (1,136) in 2014.

I don't understand why we're screwing ourselves on comp picks with these bottom of the roster type signings. It just doesn't make any sense.

Because there is no one involved with the team with any meaningful experience? Maybe we will figure that caveat out next year?

    • there is one common denominator in the 2003 & 2015 Carolina Panthers teams they both had ELITE top tier Qb play.  it would require a MVP type of season from Bryce Young to have the same type of success that Jake Delhomme had in  2003 & or Cam Newton in 2015 & lead this team to a SuperBowl is this going to happen or is there any reason to believe Bryce Young is capable of playing similar to Jake Delhomme in 2003 or Cam Newton in 2015 ? well no there is no absolutely NO reason whatsoever to believe that this is going to happen in 2026 ..just saying
    • I'd actually like to see Cherelus get a fair shot to win the job in camp. Wallace is decent in drop zone coverage, but he gets abused in the play action game and is often times out of position in the run game. It might just be me, but I swear every time I watch Wallace play, I see multiple plays a game were it looks like he's just trying to be blocked. Watching Cherelus last year he at least looked like he was trying to hit someone on every play. Wallace plays like a LB who doesn't trust what he sees and it makes him passive and cautious versus Cherelus who regardless of if his decision is right or wrong goes at it 100%.
    • Agreed.  Hasn’t happened to me either, but I feel very strongly about it.  That’s not just one of the worst things a woman could do to a man, it’s a power inherent to only women and is one of the worst things a HUMAN being can do to another.  A man can’t “hide” a pregnancy or maternity.  It’s impossible.  And that sucks for anyone that has to go through that. I always got a weird vibe off her and just found her very unlikeable.  Annoying even.  I’ve always been good at reading people and there was just something about her to me that was off-putting, somewhere under the surface.  And here we are…  she is despicable.
