My Carolina Panther Mock Draft

We definitely could do a lot worse.

I would consider Okuda if he is there at 7, I would also consider trading down a little bit and picking up Kinlaw.

Not too crazy about the second round pick.  I would probably go CB there, there seems to be several that would be great value there.

I love the third round pick.  Acutally I would go corner in the 2nd and if Robertson was there in the third I would really consider him also.  I can live with back to back CBs.

Also if I do trade down in the first I'm looking at the WRs hard with that extra pick.

I agree that if Simmons is there we get him, but I think we’ll have to “settle” with Derrick Brown. From what my boy who played under Snow says, he’s an aggressive blitzer which makes me think they’d use Simmons in that hybrid Sam role. I’d prefer Uche in the third.

Looks like a solid draft to me. I would assume Grier would be the odd man out if we get Knipp. Also I hope we pick up a vet CB, because our secondary would still be a pretty big weakness. I’m guessing we are waiting until after the draft to d sad solidify our roster? Anyway if we could snag a starting OG in the 4th and Moss in the 5th, I will be very happy!

If Grier ends up out that would mean that within two years we’d have wasted 4 3rd round picks in the last two drafts. Traded 2 away and released the other two. That’s Browns-like drafting.

Agreed, it’s not good. However it would make sense with a new staff coming in.

I see Verge didn't get ripped to shreds for mocking a day 3 QB.  When others, including myself did so, it was viewed a worse idea than taking a long walk off a steep cliff.  My early mocks had us taking James Morgan in the 6th or 7th rounds.  I guess since the Panthers are kicking the tires on a late round QB prospects (per reports), it's not such a crazy idea anymore.  I guess some still don't like it, but realize it's a very plausible possibility.

Verge is somewhat of a made man on this board.  Deservedly so.  He has been eeriely correct most of the time.

Oh, I have no problem getting rid of Grier. He clearly didn’t look like an NFL QB or that he had any potential at all. Allen looked way better and that says a lot. I was just lamenting how bad we have been at day 2 picks which honestly is what has been separating us from NO. They’ve killed it recently in day 2 and we’ve sucked balls in day 2 with more picks. Got a 3rd for Benjamin and Norwell and got nothing for them.
