Panthers willing to trade back?

This doesn't really mean anything because at this point in the cycle everybody is publicly open to anything but it does mesh with the reports on Love and to a lesser extent on Henderson whose risen pretty high publicly.

We'd still be better off moving up. For a franchise QB.

Yeah, I think it depends on who we have left. If Brown is there we need to just take him and be happy with our future all pro. I feel about the same with Okudah but would be more understanding of a trade down. But adding another pick early would be good for filling out the defense. If we have have 3 guys either automatically starting or in serious contention to start on defense, I’ll feel good.

love the idea of trading back and getting more draft capital. especially in this draft, day two is stacked.

very curious to see who would be available and who they would target though. not in love with Kinlaw or Henderson...

With our current roster situation, we might be able to find an automatic starter at DT at the local Golden Corral buffet.

At first I was totally against it...but in the right situation I would not hate it given the holes on defense. If Brown, Okudah, Simmons are gone that means QB's are there at 7. I'd be ok trading down and getting like Henderson and then loading the d-line up in 2nd/3rd rounds

How about if Tua is there and we get call to move up for him?  Take him or get more picks?

It all depends on the offer but I'd probably still take Tua. It would be a nightmare to try to install a new offense for the whole team and throw a rookie QB into it on what's probably going to be limited practice. I think Bridgewater's familiarity with the offense is his main asset. So Tua won't play this year anyway, we'll be bad, and if we end up with a top pick next year then we'll still be able to get a big haul from trading either Tua or that pick. Plus we'd have a year of evaluating Tua in person.

I really don't understand why any team with a top pick wouldn't take a quarterback if they think he has a chance to be good (I do not think Herbert has much of a chance). If I were a Washington/Detroit fan I'd be screaming for Tua right now. In hindsight, it's what we should've done in 2017--Mahomes and Watson went two and four picks after CMC, respectively. I love CMC, but wouldn't you rather have either of those guys right now?

I wouldn't be mad if we take Tua but the more I hear about Herbert I think he's going to be a bust and would be very angry if Marty has fallen in love with him and takes him.

I really can't see a scenario where this is a good move for us unless were getting multiple 1sts.

We need a QB, and we need great player's on the defensive side of the ball. Moving back so we can get the aforementioned Solid Defensive Player and some depth piece really doesn't do it for me.

If you're taking the big swing on Love, okay. If you're getting a truly marquee player at a steal... I mean maybe, but that's unlikely.

Posters here vastly overrated the importance of the draft and thus vastly overrate draft picks.

I wouldn’t mind seeing us trade back twice. We could pick up extra second and third round picks allowing teams 12-15 to move up to our spot and then trade back again for teams looking to trade up to 12-15.
