I don't blame the new regime for not realizing. They never even saw Cam in a uniform, especially a camp one.

However, someone in the org should have said hey, you know that's Cam's old look, right?

Best qb in franchise history and easily one of the best, most dynamic, influential players ever in our franchise.  Even the most critical type fan should see why this can be seen in poor taste. Outside of, you know, defending players who gave your team their all and helped provide considerable relevancy to said team. Which if youre a true fan of the team not sure why that would come as such a shock. Either way, actually having injured guys run around in a jersey with such an iconic number attached to a former mvp and recently conerstone qb who was barely into his 30's that was, funny enough, cut this offeseason due to injuries (largely in thanks to terrible management, coaching, and inability to provide protection to said player) looks like a pathetic and obnoxious move.

Agree, but it wasn't intentional. No one said, hey, lets really anger some fans this will be hilarious put this jersey on.

It is an overlooked detail. They hopefully learned a lesson.

I agree when it comes to Matt Rhule and his coaching staff. Theyre focused on trying to get their team and themselves ready as new coaches with a young team in a crazy offesason. Still, thats a heck of an oversite by the organization as a whole. If they change after it thats fine. People make mistakes. If not, well.....

Will it be hilarious if Cam has NE back in the playoffs while we're playing for draft position again?

isn't NE in the playoffs every year?   i totally expect NE to have cam back in the playoffs unless sam darnold and josh allen somehow experience miracle growth as qb's.

Need to retire his practice jersey, build a statute and have his face with a bonnet mid field, and sue any disrespectful mofo that tries to to the dab in BOA. We need shrines in every restroom. Panthers shouldn’t even be playing football, they should be rerunning all cam games on the big screen and hold 60 min moments of cam silence. we need a cam holiday and we need to all be fasting the day he was cut every year. People are so direspectful. They using his socks too???? What about where he used to dress in the locker room?? SOMEONE ELSE there now!?!? Unacceptable. That whole area should be plated in gold and guarded by security guards 24/365 what is wrong with these people don’t they know. #mencamvstheworld #camplzreturnmycalls #unsuspectingcamphotosmadeinmybasement #shinerhroughthesahde

Ok keyboard champion.

Cam sat unemployed after being cut while he still had time on his contract.

TB was signed and named starter.

Apparently there’s a bunch of people who need brain surgery within the organization. You should have been GM with this infinite wisdom you possess.

Thank God TB is black otherwise the lib train would be salivating to call me racist for pointing out we have a new QB.

You sound like someone who gets called racist a lot.

Photos from Friday show Teddy wearing a red #5.  My guess is for whatever reason they made a change to what the colors mean and they had some red #1s laying around and aren't giving away reds with current player numbers. They are using them for now and people are looking to read in to it for something that isn't there.   I wouldn't be surprised to see the red jersey's with the injured players actual numbers appear soon.

Not sure how this would even be Rhule's fault here. He probably just asked his equipment guy to get some red jerseys for the injured players, and they brought out the most prevalent amount they had. Pretty simple if you think about it in an unbiased fashion. Besides, if you're going to blame anyone for this, it's really the equipment manager you should be associating the mistake to here, not the coach who most likely didn't think more than a half a millisecond about the request.

Unless of course you just really really want to imagine Rhule rubbing his hands together and chucking with his Dr. Evil laugh, while thinking about how it would be a huge slight on Cam. If so, I can sell you a great tin foil hat, guaranteed to be cheap and authentic!

A “lesser” player? That’s pretty demeaning to Bridgewater, and I’m not sure it’s really truthful. In the business of football it seems that players tend to peak and decline. Cam in the eyes of the team had declined so that he was unreliable, they replaced him with someone they felt was more reliable or has a higher chance of success under the new system.

That makes Cam the lesser player of you want to rank people. Cam right now is fortunate that another team is taking a chance with him, but his future as a starter is really up in the air. Who’s the lesser player again?

Bridgewater is still the lesser player.  Sorry but still true unless you are a Cam hater or Bridgewater supporter.  A healthy Cam is better than a healthy Bridgewater.  The rub will always be whether or not Cam is healthy.  Please remember that the reason Cam was not healthy the last 2 seasons was because the organization failed to protect him with a good offensive line.

That said, all of the above is not the point.  The point is that whether giving shade to Cam or not, using Cam's red jerseys for injured players on the team doesn't look good and more thought should've been put into that decision.  If you are trying to move away from Cam and get the fanbase to do so as well, why do something like this, which would only bring Cam back into the conversation?
