We have a rookie HC, a college OC, a college DC, and a bunch of rookies and new guys starting..  with no preseason games to practice even the little things

... and we almost won, with flashes of promise

We just need to grease the wheel and get our gameday routine worn in a little bit.. make some adjustments, Get comfortable

our team is very green in all phases  Have some perspective and patience.  I for one am very excited about the Panthers moving forward!

The cam fanboys gave him every excuse in the book, literally every single one. But Teddy gets none, no ‘controversies’, nothing, nada.

Why?

Mostly whine and cheese fans waiting for the next Panthers Superbowl team to act like they've been diehard fans their entire lives.

Plenty of us are both Cam finds and cautiously optimistic about Teddy's first game as a Panther.  I say cautiously because we've seen better first games from players that didn't turn out that way.  But I think Teddy has staying power and will only get better.

Like someone said here already, tape is out now and it will only get harder. Love the optimism but the tear it all down crowd doesn't fully grasp the hard road ahead. Long time Panther fans remember the agony and the apathy.

Tape is out after one game? Holy sh1t we’re gonna run the same plays next week?

if you are having agony and apathy over something you have zero control of, and you let that control YOU, then you have problems.

sit back, relax, and witness the rebuild. you are a spectator. spectate.

Good post and agree. We all expected bumps and bruises. The team actually looked a hell of a lot better than I expected yesterday. Espescially considering how bad the Saints and Bucs look.

Yea I feel pretty good about yesterday, I think with how strange this offseason has been for a brand new regime to come out and compete like that was pretty reassuring.

Moving forward our run defense will have to improve, as well as, getting QB pressure

Yup. The wilderness years of 2009-12 were not fun.

    • I still think a Dalton thumb injury screwed us 2 seasons in a row.  It allowed the Bryce Young comeback after whoever finally gave a greenlight on being done w/ him 2 weeks into the season.  and I think we saw a soft benching this year and they wanted to see Andy run it with this crew.  But Andy hurting his thumb killed us from seeing whatever he has at full go in a game.  Bryce Young was never hurt those 2 games to the degree which called him to miss a game IMO.  You don't see QBs sit for such minor things....unless you just want to use it to explore and see.
    • I was quite critical of Ron Rivera's game day coaching decisions and management over his years here. Especially when he coached super conservative playing not to lose. But at the end of the day he never had to try and win with a Bryce Young. John Fox had to try and win with a Bryce Young and he completely checked out and got himself fired. The only. Only solution right now. Is to remove the anchor around our necks from the equation and move forward however we can and assess all the moving parts with the time we have left so we can move forward accordingly in the offseason. Not doing so is only going to further delay evaluating what we have in this young roster and this staff led by Canales.
    • Sometimes GMs try outsmart everyone by picking a player they think has the physical tools and can be coached up but Legette is an example what happens when that doesn't work out. Teams that are already contenders with a full roster can take those chances. The Eagles, for example, could have rolled the dice on a guy like Legette. But the Panthers needed, and still need, to draft guys who are ready to play now in the first round. Legette wasn't that guy and there were much better options available.
