In which I stay positive and the Panthers haters rage

True.  He moved around the pocket quite well at times anyway.  His ball placement seemed off too, but he still had some great throws.

I just wish we could build a quality, consistent OL around a QB.

It's one of those position groups we have just not valued properly historically. We finally have two pretty decent tackles and now the interior of the line is absolutely brutally bad.

I'm wondering if there is a strategy involved in waiting for the play clock to be down to nearly 0 on what feels like a majority of our offensive plays. Cam did the same thing and it felt to me like it regularly resulted in the defense having amazing timing off the snap.

Like, if the defense knows the play clock is running down, they don't have to watch the ball for the snap, they can just wait until it hits 0 and fire off. Meanwhile, Teddy is letting it hit 0 and then calling for the ball.

Maybe I'm crazy. But it was the same story with Cam. And it's incredibly frustrating. Why can't you get the play called in, line up, take a look at the defense, and snap the damn ball like most other teams do with time left on the play clock?

There is a lot of good to see here. We lost our leaders on both sides of the ball. Had no preseason. Had at least 3 turnovers. Started off 21-0, and still could have won this game because of adjustments. Something we haven’t done well in recent memory. If you came in this season expecting us to be 2-0, you probably had some high hopes. The fact we could be 2-0 at this point is more than I expected. The idea of building onto this squad is exciting.

Teddy played poorly because we allowed 5 sacks, 8 QB Hits and a bunch of pressures. Teddy has always struggled when he gets pressured. It isn't anything new.

Sounds good in theory, but then go back and watch the INTs. Pressure was a non-factor on those plays. Surely you're not insinuating that Bridgewater is already shell shocked? It took about five games of this before Allen got shell shocked, bit then again, Allen hasn't had his leg basically internally amputated in the past either.

the difference i'm noticing is that we're actually doing things up until that moment, where with cam none of that was happening.

There was little to do in our prior offensive schemes.  I think the play calling was about equivalent to "Cam, run around and do some of that QB stuff you do.  Get the ball to CMC if you can."  Our offense resembled something Buddy Ryan would have been proud of, and for good reason.

If you watched the Pats/Hawks game last night, that wasn't the case anymore in NE. I firmly believe Rivera was intentionally slow playing the offense. At the end if the day, he's a defensive minded coach. A lot of those guys see a long clock eating drive that keeps their D off the field and rested as being better than a quick score.

we were never going to do a damn thing this year once we jettisoned cam and luke retired.

these games are win-win for me - if the team wins it's fun experience in a vacuum, and if they lose it's a measurable step towards pulling a star player in the draft.

i am pretty zenned out this season.

A few things I have noticed in the past 2 games

1. We are severely missing Keuchly, most of the run game would have been stopped way sooner.

2. When we are being rushed we cannot hold the line

3. We are making adjustments during the game, albeit small, but we are making them. In the past if it was 21-0, we might as well called it quits, but we actually had a fighting chance.

4. I noticed our receivers are starting to get comfortable in the routes, we just need to work on communication.

I wouldn't call it "shell shock"(clinically referred to as David Carr Syndrome). Just more that as you are continually dealing with pressure you tend to rush your decisions because you aren't being protected well. It happens to a lot of QB's when they don't get adequate protection.

It'll be interesting to see how we do if CMC misses time. Per the sideline reporter, the Bucs' defenders straight up admitted that stopping #22 was pretty much their entire focus yesterday.
