Kyle Allen starting for Washington

Cool, time to find out if Kyle Allen is indeed Teddy Bridgewater with fumbling issues!  That seemed to be a popular talking point over the offseason.

Haha exactly.

Probably an upgrade over Haskins though.

Washington has some talent on offense, quarterback play has been putrid though.

Maybe this is one of Rivera’s ‘doghouse lessons’ for something stupid. 

Rivera really was a god awful coach in every statistical category.

I hear they already have selected a name.  Continuing to play under the name "Football Team" is not suitable, and they wanted something more appropriate.  Next year they will be the Washington Team.

They've also named Alex Smith the backup.

Haskins is now the third string quarterback.

I’m almost positive it has little to do with his on the field performance (which is terrible) and more to do with off the field stuff. Rumor has he’s lazy as hell, Rivera is trying to send a message

I had just moved to the DC area when the Bullets were being renamed.  The standing joke until the new name was announced was that the team decide the name Washington Bullets was too associated with violence, so they were going to change their name to be just "the Bullets."

With the general success they have had under Snyder, the name Washington Bureaucrats comes to mind.

I haven't seen enough of Haskins to know if he has any potential at the NFL level, but that organization has become another NFL graveyard for QBs.

As he should be. I'm fully in favor of letting these QBs learn on the bench. Ultimately, it's probably better for most young QBs to have the chance to develop, than to just trot them out, get them shelled, and squander any chance they had to be decent pros.
