Falcons halftime thoughts

I don’t know is this is an unpopular opinion or not,  but I think this is the best Panther wide receiver core we might have ever had. Also, I would love to resign Curtis Samuel his downfield blocking and overall impact I think is very understated.

Thank God Burns is ok.  When those 3 guys converged over the top of him on the hit, and then he wasn't moving for a second, I was really scared.  Glad he is ok, and we need him back out there ASAP...  Pisses me of he gets knocked out by friendly fire when he is really hitting his stride...

With Teddy taking these more aggressive shots, I am quickly concocting my marinade for my crow.  And I can't wait.

We may have finally found one of those few difference makers in the league at head coach

A true strategist.  The adjustments he makes and dynamic, constantly changing methods of defending and attacking are "Belichickian," to steal his term.  I was genuinely concerned about this game coming in, because under our previous regimes, we were coming in off of a bit of national surprise and hype, a divisional game against a struggling opponent...  these are the games under Fox and Rivera that we would've completely laid an egg.  Rhule is for real and despite my protestations at certain moves made leading up to this season, he clearly knew what kind of team was needed to play the style he was looking for - they're guys that love to play, and they play hard.  This is how winners are built.

I don't see how it could be unpopular. We don't exactly have an illustrious history at WR. This corps is definitely in the conversation but I'd still give the nod to Smitty/Moose/Proehl at the moment.

DJ Moore doesn’t like Anderson, I thought it was pretty clear on Moore’s touchdown when he didn’t recognize Anderson trying to congratulate him at all.

Moore needs to grow up, it isn’t Anderson’s fault he isnt the teams #1 WR this season.

Pretty sure the beef is over Robby calling Sir Purr a bear

Imo, You are reading something into it that is probably not there.  He didn't jump up and down, but that doesn't mean he was blowing Robbie off.

Haynes got a sack! Good for him. I had such high hopes for him but he hasn’t ever got enough playing time to do anything. Glad to see him and our defense get a sack.

also Davis is a beast, dude can break some tackles.

is it me or did DJ Moore look like he wasn’t even running hard on his TD? I swear it looked like he was jogging the last 20 yards.

I mean, we've had some great individual receivers, obviously...  but, I was legit surprised to hear that Robby has more catches to this point in a season than any Panthers receiver in history.

All that being said, Smitty and Moose are my top 2 receivers all time, with the trio of those two and Proehl being the best group prior to this one...  but this group is more gifted 1 through 3, and the 4 and 5 are better than that aforementioned group that led us to the SB in 03.

    • Sure if you just blindly look at stats, you can pinpoint a couple areas that look similar. But come on man that's lazy analysis. Instead of throwing lower percentage throws, Dalton held onto the ball unconscionably long, leading to several of those sacks including that unthinkable one at the end of the first half, inflating his completion percentage. Bryce for all his flaws, does a pretty good job of escaping pressure and scrambling for 5 yards or throwing it away. Dalton's pocket presence was just so incredibly bad today, which led to both of his lost fumbles. If Bryce would just hold onto the ball and get sacked every 3rd play instead of throw it away or try a contested pass, his completion percentage would be 15 points higher than Dalton's today. And Bryce only had more yardage in 3 of 7 games? You mean when we played run heavy schemes in our wins, instead of Dalton being forced to throw all game cause we're getting blown out?  Look anyone is more than justified in arguing Bryce Young doesn't have the tools to lead this team to a super bowl. But he has been head and shoulders better this year than what Dalton showed today. That was just an abysmal perfomance.
    • 100% correct.    we also have a team that is completely incapable of responding to adversity. The first sign of trouble and the team just unravels. I think that says a lot about coaching more than anything. It can also be explained with the amount of youth we have playing key roles on offense and defense.
    • He's not elevating anyone around him and will never be that kind of qb. He is what he is. He will always need a good team around him to play his best. His best is not a game changer but game manager. If you accept that then you will understand what the outlook is going forward.
