Brady’s offense is based on creating mismatches and our TEs are limited.  As a result, they are essentially being used as a sixth OL, which is helping in the running and pass blocking.  So he is finding a way to use their them to the best of their abilities.

I mean, some offensive guys (even offensive gurus) just don't think as much of the tight end position.

Mike Martz was one of those guys. He was a major reason why we got Greg Olsen.

3 years/ $18 million. 

In contrast Tahir Whitehead's is 1 years / $2.5 million contract. I guess it was a "prove it" deal. He'd better start working on that soon.

We have one full season and five games of evidence on Brady and in both places he had stud receivers and pass-catching running backs and his tight ends were his least-talented receivers. He's also 31--his coaching philosophy isn't set in stone. It's a little silly to hand-wave a whole position because we feel like he doesn't want to use them. Tight end could very well be on the wish list.

He had a TD last week , we just have really good receiver, this isn't Olsen then everyone else. The TE is now the 5th option, 3 legit WRs, and CMC, and now add in Davis.

If we do trade I hope it's for another pass rusher. I think Gross-Matos will eventually come into his own and I like Haynes, but I think one more great pass rusher would turn this good defense into an special one.

My target would be a linebacker with a healthy contract, a couple of years left and playing for a team that wants to dump the contract. I don't think that would cost more than a 4th or 5th rounder, at best and the Panthers will have cap room next year.

I see things differently apparently. I can stomach a trade to upgrade the team as long as it makes sense. All trades aren't Band-Aids or stopgaps. Sometimes it makes sense to trade. It all depends upon the benefit-cost ratio of the trade and what type of value that you're garnering from pulling the trigger.
