is this something you've done before or are you just trying it?   i've misted with apple juice but have never heard of this.

It's a wet brine to add moisture like you would with chicken. Just use apple cider (used juice because I'm out) where you would normally use water for extra flavor. I put my dry rub on after it's soaked 8-24 hours.

I OD on apple with pork though so I can't say how effective the brine is alone. I soak it in it, smoke it with applewood, and I don't have a spray bottle to mist so I cover it in applesauce to get a good bark. Pulled pork is super forgiving regardless but it's always come out great for me.
