Troy Pride vs Zach Sanchez

Who will end up being the worse pick between the two?

Right now I’m leaning Pride considering not much was expected out of Sanchez.

Can't be a bust after the 3rd round, you can only be a steal/depth/ST contributor.

Pride has not been bad.  Sanchez stood out for being bad.  And I wouldn't really consider either a bust considering where they were taken and that the majority of draft picks dont workout.  

Pride has been in position more often than not, been surprisingly good in coverage, and only thing he has missed is that final millisecond closing out the play/contesting the catch.  His positioning has been really good and he seems to be a fairly fluid athlete.  I expect he'll be even better in year two, and at the very least will eventually end up being an upgrade over a guy like Elder, with potential as a starter on the outside.

All that being said, that whiff yesterday was bad.

Pride is a 5th round rookie that is learning and showing some promise in my eyes. He has good size and ball instincts, he is just half a second off from turning his head around to make solid plays from what I’ve seen.

Pride was taken in the 4th round. Sanchez was 5th, about 30 picks, a full round later not a late 4th vs early 5th which are almost the same.

Seeing as how Sanchez never did anything, Pride is very likely a better pick.

We're talking about a 4th round rookie forced into a role everyone (including the coaches) knew he wasn't ready for. I'm not going to start forming a real opinion of him until next year.

Without a preseason. He actually looks halfway promising given those detracting factors.

Pride has had some decent plays this year.  Ditto with Elder. 

Those two are worth keeping around at the back of the depth chart.

Pride has been pretty bad but Elder has been pretty good. I don't see a reason to get rid of either.

Thing is, when Pride has shown up, he has a good toughness+speed combo.

There's good outside corner potential there.  Elder as a NB.

Jackson is a problem and I'm of the opinion Douglas is pretty average. 

Stuck between waiting for the young guys to develop and hanging on to barely good enough/not good enough has been rough.  Especially when we're facing good OLs and the front 4 isn't getting a push.

I would be pretty shocked if Pride is in the NFL after his rookie contract. Elder has been absolutely fantastic this season.

Jackson may not be able to hold up physically. His talents are obvious.

Douglas is definitely above average, IMO. 

I think the CB's are a lot less of a problem than the safeties.

4th round rookie put in a role he shouldn’t be in. Not great but dude has to be overwhelmed. Not making any judgements and suspect he can still be a nice player.

Pride has been pretty terrible.

Not sure why so many are making excuses for him. Haven’t seen a single play where he’s flashed.
