I'm giving Rhule until the end of next season for sure, its only fair. But so far he hasn't shown any coaching improvements, he's just regressing. It's not really a good sign at this point sadly.

I think that it's a testament how competitive he's had the team playing despite soul crushing play by his qb. What's also encouraging is his ability to draft and actually cultivate the picks. Rookies have played great this year.

I'll see your Rhule and Raise you a Marty Hurney.

He has these scrubs playing with some fight, except Teddy of course.  That to me is all I expected him to accomplish this season.  They are fighting above their weight class and that's all you can ask from a bunch of rookies and outcasts, both the players and coaches.

This game came down to a special teams blunder, two rookie mistakes on defense and Teddy two gloves.

They could have overcome the first 3 but couldn't overcome Teddy.

Keep in mind too that when I say coaching, I'm not solely talking about Matt Rhule. He's the main guy, but you also have to look at Snow, Brady, Blackburn and others.

Some have referred to us as using college schemes against pro teams. There may be some validity to that.

I won't deny that we've got a talent gap.

That said, if we'd have faced Denver earlier in the year, I'd have felt better about our chances.

Me too. Especially when CMC was healthy. Mike Davis hasn't been anything but meh recently, and Teddy has went from average to poo in 4 weeks. So yeah, me too. We beat Denver earlier in the year, when Mike Davis was better and Teddy was just average. Absolutely.

I'm sure the scheme is tailored to the abilities of the players.  I'm not too hung up on that this season as these guys have little to no time to install a complicated system to teach to a bunch of rookies.  I know I wouldn't.  I would take what they already know a work it into what I have and build from there.  But that's just me.

Anyway, I didn't have any expectations for this team other than they play their ass off even if they still lose.   So far I'm not disappointed too terribly bad other than Teddy and some of the vets still hanging around.

Largely the same. Snow maybe has showed some growth even if he still gets outmatched (although how much of that is serious talent deficit and youth?). His playcalling is a little more versatile with some blitzing rather than the conservative 3 man rushing, and dropping everyone into coverage every time. Brady looks like he hasn't evolved whatsoever. He has the most to improve as far as I'm concerned. Rhule was a breath of fresh air from day 1 but he can only do so much. I like his decision making and general aggressiveness. He looked good early on so even though he's not gotten clearly better, staying even is ok for him.
