Odd it comes out today that there are rumors he will request a trade and pre June 1st trade is 21 million cap hit and post is 5 million.   Either amount would be fine and would work.

Yea seen that, must be a different contract than spotac has( https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/houston-texans/deshaun-watson-21753/  )  , cause they list him as getting 67mill in dead money. Its was also report by a few Houston reporters thats its pure nonsense and one said

Texans aren't trading Watson, nor has that been discussed. I asked for a hypothetical offer that might move him last night. "Three 1sts, three 2nds and a player might start the conversation"

Apparently, Cal McNair promised to let him take part in the coaching / GM selection process, then didn't.

Caserio is rebooting the coaching search, so that might change.

If it does, Watson is said to be fond of Eric Bieniemy, in part thanks to an endorsement to him from Patrick Mahomes.

idk if there is a player I would give up 3 1st's and 3 2nd's for...

one guy doesn't guarantee you poo, look at the texans for example.

I'm way too into the draft to give up that much capitol as well. waiting until the 3rd every year for 3 years would suck.

I am all in favor of a trade for Watson and to save some draft picks I would definitely include CMC.  A franchise QB at the level of Watson, who you know is actually one, and not a maybe, is worth way more than a RB|WR player, even at CMC's level.  I would NOT like giving up three 1st rounders though.  That seams like two much.

Yeah sounds like Watson is really pissed. Ownership told him he could be notified and talked too about coaching and GM hiring, and instead the ownership backtracked and went ahead and did it without even asking for any input or anything. Considering what the previous coach/Gm did to the franchise, I can’t really say I blame Watson. If I was a betting man, I’d say he’s on a different team this coming season.

Just saw those reports.  That's legit PO'ff territory.  Totally unacceptable on the ownership end with that bologne.

I'd legit be making calls.  Not offering but asking.  We've got more than just draft picks.

20+21 1st, 21 third 22 third, 22 fifth, Shaq

Random unrealistic one: 20+21 1st, 21' third, 21+22' fifth, Shaq

They've been looking for a legit linebacker behind Watt forever.

Yeah I’d at least be inquiring because the report also says he’s been ignoring the ownerships calls for days. Yeah I’d say he’s pretty ticked. Can’t blame him either when their coach screwed him for years to come with his awful drafting and trades.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
